Im wrapped that Boston Legal is now on…. top show

  2. Harvey35 September 13, 2010 at 12:01 am -

Caprica and Warehouse 13 are both top shows if you are looking for something to watch.

  3. Paull September 11, 2010 at 11:04 pm -

I still think it’s ridiculous that 7 are sacrificing their HD channel for this. A lot of the shows aren’t, or won’t be shown in HD and those that watch regular 7, which is arguably the best of the 3 channels, will be seeing the low quality versions of their favourite shows.

  4. David Knox September 11, 2010 at 6:00 pm -

    No, simulcast.

  5. Jen September 11, 2010 at 5:57 pm -

Is the AFL Grand Finale only going to be shown on 7mate?

  6. Craig September 11, 2010 at 5:52 pm -

Any chance ‘Always Greener’ will make an appearance on one of the 7 channels?

  7. DC September 11, 2010 at 2:45 pm -

As you probably know Caprica is set before BSG. You don’t have to have watched all of BSG to be able to watch Caprica. Although it does help to have some knowledge of the BSG universe.

The second part of season 1 returns in the US on October 5 when it will air behind new episodes of Stargate Universe. No confirmation yet on a 2nd season.

  8. Dr. TV September 11, 2010 at 1:48 pm -

David, any chance to do an interview with the big boys of Foxtel. I reckon they’d be starting to worry with the emergence of all of these new free channels.

  9. billy balakalai September 11, 2010 at 1:19 pm -

the only good thing there is 3 hours of NBC Today show

  10. Craig September 11, 2010 at 11:34 am -

Great to see Warehouse 13 on FTA. Its a great show

  11. Anthony Mai September 11, 2010 at 9:30 am -

From that list, I’m only, but definitely looking forward to the new eps of Parks and Recreation!!!!

  12. Billy September 11, 2010 at 8:59 am -

    To Earthquake ,

I agree , there is not enough Australian shows.
A Country practice finished repeating on Hallmark channel a few months ago , now it could be 7TWO’s turn I think. Sons and Daughters / Home and Away are already repeating on 7TWO.
All the others you mention are worth a rerun too somewhere on freeview. Cop Shop , The Sullivans , Prisoner , The Flying Doctors , Altogether Now , Richmond Hill and many more…
Wouldn’t it be good if there was a rule that they can’t screen 3 American shows in a row ??

  13. farzy September 11, 2010 at 8:16 am -

    I dont need foxtel anymore.

  14. Tbone23 September 10, 2010 at 10:43 pm -

Any ideas if there will be added to Foxtel cuz @ the moment i don’t have a set top box in the Tv in my room.
    while i do have FT

  15. BJ September 10, 2010 at 10:15 pm -

@ Tomothy ‘When We Were Kings’ is actually a 1996 movie about Muhammed Ali not a 1966 one. Wouldn’t mind seeing some 1966 movies though.

  16. Nathan September 10, 2010 at 10:04 pm -

@jp I am so holding out for NBC Today haha.

I’m just glad they are playing Family Guy and American Dad in a decent time slot.

  17. Butters September 10, 2010 at 9:57 pm -

Parks and Rec at 10pm?? Seriously?

C’mon Seven, it’s an awesome show. Give it a chance in an earlier slot please.

  18. par3182 September 10, 2010 at 9:40 pm -

As they say on Sesame Street, one of these things is not like the others…

    (Parks and Recreation)

  19. Matt T September 10, 2010 at 9:38 pm -

Replaying LOST in HD is good

  20. Buck September 10, 2010 at 9:11 pm -

I am a male viewer and there is not one program in this prime time line-up that I am interested in watching ….. so I guess 7mate won’t be watched in my house ….

  21. victor muscles September 10, 2010 at 8:38 pm -

In the confusion regarding HD vs SD and 70 vs 73 ….this is from the original announcment in early august (on TV Tonight website)

To receive 7mate from 25 September, viewers will need to tune into channel 73 on an HD capable Digital TV, PVR or set top box. If you have an analogue television you will need to connect your old TV to an HD capable Digital set top box, PVR, or Digital recorder and tune in to channel 73.
A spokesperson from Seven told TV Tonight: “7mate replaces 7HD, as this is all we can fit in our spectrum until 2013 or the end of Analog.

  22. Earthquake September 10, 2010 at 7:15 pm -

Hmmm, with all those TBA’s the shows outside of primetime don’t look that wonderful.

Where are all the old Aussie shows? I’m sure some time in the last 50 years there was an Australian programme made and that it just didn’t disintegrate once it was shown on TV. Why are our multi-channels still littered with these old American shows when our history and our identity could be on display to those who haven’t seen the break through Australian programmes from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s. Is it going to take an ABC channel or SBS channel to show retro Australian series?

Where are the repeats of A Country Practice, Sons & Daughters, Neighbours, Home & Away, E Street, Secret Life Of Us, Police Rescue, Wildside, Hey Dad, Newlyweds, Acropolis Now, The Comedy Company, Fast Forward, Full Frontal, Micallef Programme, Roy & HG, etc? Surely you don’t have to rent a set top box off Rupert Murdoch to watch the likes of those programmes?

Those are just a selection. I’m sure others can/will add to the Australian programming that Australian viewers deserve to watch.

  23. Ashley Beer September 10, 2010 at 7:15 pm -

Why isn’t 7mate broadcasted on digital channel 73 like ABC3 is on 23?

  24. Pete September 10, 2010 at 6:54 pm -

Hmmm…can I watch Caprica without having finished all of Battlestar yet?

  25. Hybridk1 September 10, 2010 at 6:42 pm -

Bring on Warehouse 13 and Caprica. Thursday nights currently suck!!!

  26. David Knox September 10, 2010 at 6:32 pm -

Newtaste. TV Tonight did not announce a new channel from Nine. The AFR did. That’s why there are Sources used in aggregated stories here.

Quote: “But the Australian Financial Review says Nine has set a date for the launch of its second digital channel, five or six days before Seven launches 7mate.”

Lucy: a gay channel was offered by SelecTV at one stage but I never thought it would work and it didn’t.

  27. jp September 10, 2010 at 6:23 pm -

yay!! nbc today every bloke will want to watch that!!!

  28. Jake September 10, 2010 at 6:01 pm -

Would be good if it wasn’t exclusively in HD – I can’t record a lot of shows :(

  29. Lucy September 10, 2010 at 5:55 pm -

David when are we going to grow as an industry and try something New like heretv.com/

  30. Jerome September 10, 2010 at 5:53 pm -

    i’s definately very blokey
the main show i was looking forward to was jersey shore, hope that takes one of the TBA’s. why is parks and rec on so late? that is a really good show that i thought might get a 7:30 slot.

and ax men seems like a good show too i quite like that genre like ice road truckers, man vs wild ect. it aired in the UK under the name axE men (australian spelling) looks like 7mate are going for the US speling of the word axe.

  31. JB September 10, 2010 at 5:39 pm -

I’m a 22 year old male. The only thing i want to watch is Parks & Recreation.

  32. newtaste September 10, 2010 at 5:38 pm -

TV Tonight announced that the new Nine channel would be launching 5 to 6 days before 7mate. When do you expect to get the advanced guide from Nine?

  33. Paull September 10, 2010 at 5:26 pm -

Boring and it’s supposedly aimed at me. It would have been wiser to either keep 7hd and have 7mate breakaway programming, or have 7mate with some material from 7 simucast. No more news in HD.

  34. elaine September 10, 2010 at 5:21 pm -

    warehouse 13 is a good.

  35. Andrew B September 10, 2010 at 5:19 pm -

While 7mate does offer overnight programming on most nights, it is not entirely free of Home Shopping – at 2am Wednesday night.

Why oh why can;t we have juts one channel free from this disease?

  36. Craig September 10, 2010 at 5:12 pm -

7HD (ch70) will become 7Mate, there will no longer be a HD simulcast of the main Seven channel.

What I think they should do is like the BBC model and air selected shows on the HD channel from the other channels, so things like the AFL and Rafters can still be shown in HD, maybe not at the same times but at least you have the option to see them in HD if you want to.

ABC, Nine and TEN should all do this IMO.

  37. SwaySlayer September 10, 2010 at 5:11 pm -

Is it weird that as a 30 year old woman, I am more excited by 7mate’s programming than that on GO? Love me a bit of Magnum PI and A-Team!

  38. Matt September 10, 2010 at 4:55 pm -

One question(and apologies if this has been answered already elsewhere), but If you have the Foxtel Iq2(Hd) and already getting 7HD, will 7Mate be on foxtel HD?

  39. BenJamin September 10, 2010 at 4:51 pm -

    From 20 & Male…
There is only one thing in the entire program that interests me… Parks & Recreation… I can’t believe how boring the schedule is! Not that I can complain.. It’s better to have a crappy extra channel than to not have one at all.

  40. Elisabeth September 10, 2010 at 4:49 pm -

Dammit why does Tasmania have to miss out?!@#^?! I want Caprica!

  41. Daniel September 10, 2010 at 4:49 pm -

I wish it wasn’t hd, even though most of these shows are crap

  42. Knowfirst September 10, 2010 at 4:46 pm -

    Looks fantas….zzzzzzZZZZZZ.

    Sorry, where were we?

  43. victor muscles September 10, 2010 at 4:30 pm -

R U sure that 7mate is HD – I thought that only Chl 70 is in HD, the others, 71, 72 (7two) and 73 (7mate) are all SD. But then I could be wrong

  44. Greg September 10, 2010 at 4:28 pm -

Looking forward to Caprica, I hope they can add some more Sci-Fi in the future. It’s a genre that doesn’t get much coverage on the main channels these days. Saw a bit of Warehouse 13 on Foxtel, but it didn’t grab me. Still at least 7Mate seems to be interested in giving SciFi a go, so they have my vote.

  45. tomothy September 10, 2010 at 4:27 pm -

As Ms Krabappel would say, “Pretty lame Milhouse, pretty lame”.

Maybe a couple of shows I would watch in primetime, however as they are old, I have seen them elsewhere. They should have got the premier shows on this channel and put them on 7Two, and then used the 3rd channel for something else. That way 7Two could be less terrible, and have more ‘new’ shows.

Hands up who will be watching the 1966 movie ‘When We Were Kings’…

What annoys me about FTA channels is the on screen guide says rubbish like “7mate Sunday Movie” or “Tuesday Night at the Movies”. Just show the name of the movie, we know what day it is.

  46. jake September 10, 2010 at 4:18 pm -

    Where’s Cop Shop?

  47. darthfyer September 10, 2010 at 4:18 pm -

Well the daytime schedule doesn’t set the tv guide alight. Primetime is where the viewers will flock. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights look decent. The Universe is great and can’t wait for Warehouse 13 and Caprica. :)

NBC Today is an interesting piece of programming. Those from PRiME land will like this news as it previously aired infomercials instead of the US morning show. Not sure if this is still on 7 before Sunrise?

  48. stephen September 10, 2010 at 4:17 pm -

Just checked the advanced guide for 7 mate at tv tonight great range of old classics and there are some interesting documentaries to be screened. Looking foward to it commencing.

  49. ryan September 10, 2010 at 4:16 pm -

i’m male and 24 and there is nothing at all there that i would watch.

  50. bindi September 10, 2010 at 4:14 pm -

glad warehouse 13 and caprica are on thursday, I was just thinking about how there isn’t much on thursdays these days. I’m re-watching battlestar galactica right now in preparation for caprica.

  51. sam September 10, 2010 at 4:14 pm -

day time schedule looks better than evening

  52. vinny September 10, 2010 at 3:57 pm -

I wonder if some shows like Gene Simmons Family Jewels , if Seven have bought all seasons ? I know on Seven Two they only bought 2 seasons of Escape to the Country….

  53. steven guy September 10, 2010 at 3:57 pm -

7bloke should add blokey news breaks with Mel Doyle wearing that cleavage revealing number she wore on election night or Sonya Kruger showing lots of sequinned leg !

  54. vinny September 10, 2010 at 3:55 pm -

    Still nothing from nine :(

  55. Vicky September 10, 2010 at 3:54 pm -

    Boring…boring…boring. I’ll stick with GO!

  56. merlin September 10, 2010 at 3:54 pm -

This is a fantastic schedule, best one since GO! better then 7Two just about every show I’m interested in watching can’t wait to see Warehouse 13 and Caprica. The only negative thing i can think of is NBC Today at 9am-midday weekdays.

  57. Craig September 10, 2010 at 3:48 pm -

I heard The Universe is good but apart form that I’ve either no interest in the show or already seen them.

  58. PD September 10, 2010 at 3:47 pm -

Gosh, the Today show? Woah. Kathie Lee Gifford’s pretty blokey, I guess.

  59. Johnson September 10, 2010 at 3:44 pm -

Whose idea is it to screen NBC Today as a morning show? Is that one of Seven’s incentives to attract female viewers? (Only the 4th hour, hosted by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford, is like a morning show, with topics including entertainment and fashion) Unless news and weather updates during each 30 minutes of the US version are cut to make it a 3-hour show? I still think NBC Today should be shown at midnight, which in summer will mean Sydney and Melbourne will see the program one hour behind the US east coast due to the 16-hour time difference.

  60. vinny September 10, 2010 at 3:41 pm -

How come the guides are all TBA…. yet the specific shows at 7.30pm are on this site , yet not in the guide ?

  61. turdall September 10, 2010 at 3:38 pm -

that’s a really really boring schedule!

  62. Jason D. September 10, 2010 at 3:35 pm -

NBC Today isn’t really male oriented viewing, however, it should still be competitive against Kerri-Anne, Morning Show etc. Otherwise, the channel in general seems promising.

  63. Jack September 10, 2010 at 3:27 pm -

Caprica, The Universe, and Warehouse 13 in HD – fantastic.

And please Seven, give these shows some time to prove themselves! Show your viewers you have patience on this channel.

And King of the Hill for those primetime schedule gaps please! There’s still nearly a season to go, so it’ll be worth it.

  64. mikeys September 10, 2010 at 3:25 pm -

    7mate > 7TWO

  65. reality raver September 10, 2010 at 3:21 pm -

Oh God it really is blokey. Nothing on there that interests me at all.
