7TWO grabs first win over GO!

7TWO has won its first week in Total Viewers over GO! as Seven Network takes another week in weekly ratings.

7TWO has won its first week in Total Viewers over GO!

Seven’s digital channel pipped Nine’s by just 0.1% this week after some 9 months of continually ranking in second place. The victory comes just weeks before 7mate is about to launch.

Week 36 saw the Seven Network take out another weekly ratings win with Packed to the Rafters as the #1 show of the week on 1.84m viewers. TEN again took a hit, in dire need of that cooking show to return.

ASTRA Week 36

  1. Has GO suddenly done something with their ad breaks? Every movie I’ve watched in the last few days has breaks every 10 minutes. I – just as a joke – timed it, but yes…it’s every 10 mins. That is really lame!

  2. It’ll be interesting to see the ratings in two weeks time when season returns and premieres help GO! to have stable programming again (hopefully). Especially with Vampire Diaries and Hellcats, if GO! doesn’t win total figures, it will most likely win the key demos, and this is what really matters anyway.

  3. I can’t believe ABC2 doesn’t rate better. Awesome shows and no commercials. I guess it’s true what they say about throwing pearls to the swine 😉

  4. @james considering GO!’s share has gone over the last 4 weeks from 4.7% to 4.5% to 4.3% and now 3.8% where 7two has stayed around the 4% mark i think we can draw the opposite conclusion; the reason 7two won this week is more because GO! dropping.

  5. @ James, They may not of slipped back in figures, but they certainly have slipped back in quality. The channel might as well be call channel 9.2. It is not a independent channel, it is just a location to replay all their shows or dump their rubbish… But I get your point.

  6. Personally this was bound to happen; and although 0.1% isn’t much of a wake up call, hopefully this is the beginning of the end for stupid movies on GO! all the time. The best thing about GO! was the fact it offered a non movie, non sport alternative on Saturdays; and now its turned into a friggen movie night for them as well.

    Shame, shame!

  7. with 7two becoming more British over the next few weeks I expect this to happen more often. Not doing them any demo favours though (they have a lot riding on 7mate).

  8. I am not surprised GO! has slipped back. As I mentioned in a comment during the week, GO! has turned into a bit of a Joke with all the moves of shows etc. It is a shame as the channel was great when it first started.
