New Ryan Murphy / Howard Gordon drama

Glee's Ryan Murphy and 24's Howard Gordon working together? That deserves attention.

Back in July 2008 I wrote up a little story when I noticed one of my favourite writers Ryan Murphy had his eye set on a new TV project. The Nip / Tuck creator was going to tackle a little something he would call Glee for FOX.

More than two years later we all know how that snowballed….

Today The Hollywood Reporter notes Murphy is now forging with 24‘s Howard Gordon on another new drama pilot.

The as-yet-untitled project is being called “a high-concept character-driven supernatural procedural about a psychiatrist who deals with people facing their worst fears and phobias. Though each week will deal with a different case, the show will not necessarily be a crime drama.”

Murphy and Gordon will write and executive produce the series together. Bring it on.

Murphy is also know for Popular…. and of course there was also Murphy’s unsuccessful pilot Pretty / Handsome, but apparently network TV wasn’t quite ready for a drama built around a suburban, transexxual dad.

  1. From Deadline Hollywood: The drama will have supernatural elements but will revolve around broader mysteries in the vein of The X-Files, a series on which Gordon served as a writer-producer.
