  1. Luckily I taped this so I could then fast forward through all the crap to get to Angus and Julia Stone. What an uncomfortable night lacking in actual talent. How embarrassing.

  2. The whole production looked amateur. I couldn’t help but feel that five mins before the Aria’s were due to start they got kicked out of the venue so they had to set up elsewhere at the last minute. It was like watching people hanging out at a crap party. Bad lighting, pointless d grade celebrities. Overall it was an absolute joke!

  3. totally embarrassing night – it was so awkward i had to turn it off. i found most of the speeches and comments totally disrespectful of the music industry and indeed of the artists themselves. the live performances were the only thing that worked. the rest was cringeworthy. please use presenters who are confident and know what they’re talking about.

  4. I actually loved the ARIAS tonight. I loved that Rebel Wilson, pretty much was the host, yet not advertised? Bit weird, perhaps something went wrong and she filled in, but she was absolutely fantastic!

  5. Roving Enterprises i miss you!
A more ambitious production than last year, but just as difficult to watch.
Not a very respectful celebration of another great year of Oz music. Totally disrespectful and creepy conversation between that guy and carmen electra! Clare Bowditch should have hosted the whole night, she was very professional.
But well done to the talented musicians.

  6. A few thoughts: Why are the ARIAs being held in a moshpit? Was it a dance party or an awards night? Lara Bingle, Darren McMullen and Kelsey Whatsherface were cringeworthy, as were Bob Katter and the supposedly anti-establishment, anti-sellout Chaser boys. Eric Stonestreet, however, was effing brilliant. Best perfromances of the night were Washington and Guy Sebastian.

  7. Yes.. what went wrong? Definitely seemed to be a mess. Not sure which was worse though.. this year or when 9 had it last year.

I thought coming back to 10 it would be re-energised. Possibly needs Roving Enterprises again?

All in all though bit of a snorefest, IMO. The highlight seemed to be Guy Sebastian’s performance at the end.

  8. I actually quite liked how they shook up the presentation with different settings, camera angles jumping all around the place etc… I agree with previous comments about some of the awkward moments between presenters.

  9. Wow….that was embarrassing on every level. It reminds me of the Australian Music Awards that were on for two or three years in the early 90s (I attended the 1992 awards at Dreamworld). The comment made by the guy from Modern Family about presenting an award on the steps of the Opera House was spot on. I agree with William – it’s been staged like the New Year’s Eve celebrations and is very MTV. The popular vote categories really detract from the industry voted awards (Mumford and Sons are more popular than Lady Gaga…?? On what planet?!). Very disappointing. Probably a lot of fun for the live audience, though.
