Grant Bowler to host Amazing Race Australia

Minor Spoilers: Grant Bowler will host The Amazing Race Australia.
As tipped, the host was announced today following the beginning of filming in Melbourne yesterday.
The former Mole host and actor was one name rumoured to be in line for the role. US host Phil Keoghan was the hot favourite.
“I was a bit burned out recently and doing something like The Amazing Race breaks things up for me,” Bowler said.
“It’s such an exciting show to be part of.”
The Aussie teams are already overseas, rumoured to now be in Bali.
“This is such a big show. No one’s been more surprised than me that I’ve been asked to do these hosting jobs,” said Bowler.
“But I love it. It’s human psychology at work.”
Bowler should prove a winner for this one. Be careful what you take through customs guys!

I think Grant is a great choice. However, being in Melb, and heading to Bali (with the contestants on our plane) I can say that this is the rudest bunch of people to be on the show. From cutting in lines and being loud, to being disrespectful in another country… shame on most of them. Certainly an embarrasement to each of us.
Brilliant move. Grant will be excellent as host and will improve this show. I too thank God that they left those other clowns (Denyer & Williams) on the bench.
I’d say one of the reason thet fly to Bali in Jetstar would possibly be down to an advertising/commerical arrangement deal with Jetstar. Lets hope Channel 7 don’t blow this with product placement!
Still a bit sceptical about this show working with us Aussies – but fingers crossed. This Grant is an awesome choice for host though.
Love Grant Bowler. Thank goodness it’s him and not “that other Grant” that has completely rendered Iron Chef Australia among other Ch7 shows unwatchable.
Add another vote to bring back The Mole (sans Tom Williams). Really clever show that I followed for the first 4 seasons.
Having followed all seasons of The Amazing Race (US) that have aired in Oz, I’m really looking forward to The Amazing Race Australia, and even moreso now that I know Grant Bowler is hosting.
A big reason for the failure of Australian Survivor was the choice of host. Lincoln Howes and Dicko looked amateur compared to Jeff Probst. 7 have made a great decision with Grant Bowler though, he is the perfect replica of Phil Keoghan and was great as the host of the Mole (until Tom Williams took over and singlehandedly ruined the show). I think this show will be a success.
