  1. I don’t like the way Y & R has more screenings than GH. They should all air equally. The daytime debuts and then the chance on W2 , and the overnight reruns 3am or near that time and then again on W2 .plus the weekend marathon of both. Even if its 2am would be okay. The fair chance has to be there. because its possible to return home from work to a Failed recording or Part Rec Signal interuption and would find this out after it has aired on W2 and then thats it !! No other chance for GH. The weekend marathon before or after Y & R marathon is needed more than ever .

  2. @Kylie … Absolutley agree … it is a crime that Nine (who else!!!) dumped it and it went to Pay TV.

David, are there less people subscribibg to Pay TV now that there are all the new Free To Air Digital channels???

  3. David can I pls ask a question, not earth shattering and not specifically related to this article, but the industry often refers to show “airing” on pay-TV but by its definition, “air” implies traditional over the air broadcast whereas pay-TV uses satellites and cables. So does a show still “air” on pay-TV? or has pay-TV just acquired that term by default or tradition?

    1. Airing. Screening. Broadcasting. Showing. Playing. … I think we’re all guilty of traditional terms. I don’t hear “telecasting” used much anymore. The sector’s only real beef is being called “Pay TV.” It’s “Subscription TV.” Costs you less that way. 😉

  4. This is good news especially for W who certianly give Y&R the royal treatment unlike General Hospital which is now being treated like the poor cousin of the channel. All it’s encore screenings have been axed and will only screen once a day from next week which is not looking good for it’s future. Y&R gets 3 encore screenings !!
