  1. Hello? Big surprise???

Underbelly: Razor….oh god. Now they’re going to make a crap historical version. They couldn’t even get the 80s right.

What this country needs are new creatives…the same old Directors/writers keep churning out the same old average TV – all oz drama lis safe and predictable.

Until there’s a roll-over, ALL Aussie TV will Look and Feel the same!!!

  2. Do you know any other info on Million Dollar Drop (daily 30 min, or once a week primetime, live or not etc)?

The UK version of MPD (Pound, not dollar) was really good, exciting and tense and live, although I believe only 2 contestants won, each with only around $50,000 left from their original $1 Million.

  3. The Joy of Sets – this is Dizzy stuff folks!
Let’s hope it goes for at least 30 seconds, and it won’t look cheap, nasty, and downright boring.

    Imagine the guide:

    7:30pm The Joy Of Sets
    8:00pm Police Ten-7
8:30pm Doco: The Day My Arms Exploded
    9:30pm Movie: Shortbus

  4. The whole “surprise” thing (a new name? wow. contain my excitement..) is so underwhelming but we shouldn’t expect any different from our networks – they are good at promising heaps but delivering precious little.

The only things to look forward to on that list are The Joy Of Sets and The Games… they should be awesome!

  5. I like the new NEC logo- with the word nine and the dots. Do we think there is potential that this new logo may eventually filter through as a major rebrand of channel 9 as well?

  6. Wow Nine is seriously good next year! Some great shows, and something different! Can’t wait for a lot of those shows.

Joy of Sets should be awesome with Ed and Tony. Ben Elton’s show should be fabulous. And The Games should be awesome.

As usual, it’s to be expected posters on this site will be negative to anything Nine but Nine’s actually got some good things going so I hope they rate well.

  7. The rebranding reminds me of Nine Films and Television from a few years ago (which made only one movie, Dirty Deeds) as well as Village Nine Leisure, the failed joint venture between Village Roadshow and PBL and the owner of Intencity amusement centres.

  8. Can’t wait for The Joy Of Sets – still have heaps of Get This podcast on high rotation. “I’m invincible, I’m paying money … uh … The girl’s happy, she’s got no money, I got my rocks off. How good is this?”

I hope Nine does screw with them – just let the craziness fly!! Shame Richard Marsland is not with us any more.

  9. What a terrible line-up. Still only Survivor and Footy Classified the things i need to turn Nine on for. Might check out Episodes.
S#it my Dad Says, is in one word….S#it. I expect the 2.5 Men fans to love it.

  10. Agree with you Lisa. What is it with all this blokey stuff being commissioned for blokes, by blokes…Andrew Denton, Ben Elton, Tony Martin, Steven Curry…blah, blah, blah. Anybody would think men run the industry….

  11. So am I right in seeing that the only new new local drama on Nine next year will be Panic At Rock Island? The other three (series) are all return series (RSO, UB, SP). Why nothing new? Though excited that Tony Martin, John Clarke and Gina Riley will be back.
