TEN’s morning show The Circle announced today that Colin Lane best known as the Lano from Lano and Woodley, will fill in as co-host for Gorgi Coghlan in 2011 while she takes maternity leave.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be filling in for the gorgeous Gorgi and wish her all of the very best for her upcoming date with the joys of motherhood! Sharing the couch and cushions with Yumi, Chrissie and Denise is going to be so much fun,” said Lane.
Executive Producer, Pam Barnes added, “We’re really going to miss Gorgi, but if Colin’s appearances this year are anything to go by, there’ll be lots of fun and unpredictable moments on The Circle next year. He’ll be a wonderful replacement while Gorgi is away for a couple of months.”

OMG…. I can’t believe of all the people channel 10…and Pam could have chosen which would appeal to a broader audience. But that’s right channel 10 gave him the ready steady cook role and he is simply useless on it, and I am sure the ratings have dropped. So basically channel 10 are trying to get the public use to an old unfunny worn out comedian by putting him on The Circle…… Haha
Channel 10…..A joke!!
Finally. A bloke who’ll be able to take charge and show these sheilas how to do it properly!
hes always hilarious when hes on! good choice i think.
sad to see gorgi leaving but understandable (obviously, lol) good luck beautiful lady!!
This also means Gorgi will be absent from her regular segment on Denis Walter’s afternoon program on Melbourne radio station 3AW on Wednesdays, although it is not officially confirmed.
But he’s a boy!!!! Not this a great addition! Smart thinking Pam!
It’s not like he has anything better to do anyway? Does he?
In saying that, The Circle is a great show that flows quite easily.
p.s
Could have been a lot worse…Tim Ferguson!
Watch them switch off then.
Love Colin but the format has really just come into it’s own & it really is good tv,minus the ads (but that’s the deal) so adding a male permanetly is not a good move i feel, changes the whole dynamic.
I don’t know what Colin Lane is like as a co-host, but having the show less female heavy should be healthy. I remember The View being quite watchable when they got some guy from Fox “News” to fill in.
In 2010, why do we still have daytime female-only shows & The Footy Show? Aren’t we all human?
about time they had a bloke as a co host
is that the same pam barnes that executive produced hey hey back in the day?
That’s fantastic! Great pick for a new host.
Not a very blokey gig is it. Will definitely change the dynamic of the show from ‘girly’ talk.
