  1. Sydney firework show 2011 is disappointing! I don’t like music themes played firework show, I watch video on youtube “Sydney – New Year’s Midnight Fireworks 2011 – High Quality – Full 12 Min Show”.

  2. Seven should broadcast the Fireworks for 2011. They’ll do a better job with Kochie and Mel as hosts with Guy Sebastian performing “Imagine” and Human Nature…

  3. Last night i’m really disappointing with the way CH9 organised pitty flat and notting exciting much, seem to be the theme of NYE not match with CH9 presented.
I’m prefer last year (i don’t know what CH?) but it’s much better & more fun.

  4. Very intrustive Sydney logo, whatever it was supposed to be. Ditto for the large intrusive WIN logo. Looks like Nine had the same director as last year. Switching camera shots just because he/she can. Stick with the one shot until the effect has finished, dummy.

  5. Well, thanks 9 for ruining the fireworks. Wasn’t shown in HD, so first sight of night-time shots in SD gives extremely pixellated picture. Thinking how horrific it looks when Michael Usher comes on to say “great pictures, aren’t they?’. Um, no. Was just thinking how poor they are. Would’ve been great in HD. Then of course we again have a director with ADHD who can’t stick with one shot more than 3 seconds, as usual often changing cameras right in the middle of an effect, in particular during the grand finale. Hopefully someone else will do the fireworks next year. Glad they at least didn’t stuff up the effects (by changing camera mid-effect) in “what a wonderful world”, as they were amazing.

@astrogirl, Sydney fireworks were on 9, Melbourne on 7. I didn’t know this when it first happened a few years ago and when I eagerly went to watch recording of Sydney fireworks next day discovered in fact I had the Melbourne fireworks (I’m in Sydney, and 7 did not make it clear it was the Melbourne fireworks they were showing, much to my latter disappointment).

  6. The Sydney.com logo was on the screen like last years event. Michael Usher came in for Cameron Williams and fireworks (9pm) were awesome.

Can’t wait for the Midnight one 🙂

  7. Looks like its nine or ten for us. We actually want to see the fireworks – kiddo is staying up for them – and couldn’t figure out from the tv guide which station was going to air them. I vaguely remember when they all aired them, guess that doesn’t happen anymore. Anyway, thankyou for this much appreciated.

  8. Paull – dead right
Channel 9 have about as much clue about what should be on a HD channel as the Aussie cricket selectors have atm….

I would love for someone at nine to explain to the viewers their thinking when it comes to 1950s movies on a HD channel.

  9. BTW David…..Thanks for all of this and the many other things that are popping up…like the year in review….
I am not quite sure how much ‘rest’ you are getting….:-)

  10. I love ‘Dinner for one’…Watch it every year….
Even though it is B&W and basic slapstick…and you think it is going to all be in German at the beginning…It is Not……
I still laugh my head off….A real classic and worth the 20 minute watch!
