‘Til Death finally carks it

After 81 episodes the Brad Garrett / Joely Fisher comedy comes to a close, ending a run that feels like it has gone on forever.

Can it possible be true?

Tonight Nine will screen the last-ever episode of US comedy Til Death.

After 81 episodes the Brad Garrett / Joely Fisher comedy comes to a close, ending a run that feels like it has gone on forever.

Only According to Jim outdoes this one in hanging around too long. That one went for for a numbing 182 episodes.

If you’re interested in the synopsis for the finale episode, here it is:

Eddie’s book finally gets published, but on the day of his book signing, Ally goes into labor and everyone shows up to welcome the new addition to the family. Meanwhile, Eddie gives Doug fatherhood tips, and Ally apologizes to Joy for being a terrible daughter.

It airs at 11:40pm tonight on Nine -except in Adelaide and Perth which came to their senses and gave up on the show ages ago.

  1. Didn’t mind this. I saw alot of the episodes Nine have been showing. A nice filler for 11.30pm. No where near in the league to Back To You which I would’ve preferred 100%.

However I’m not particularly keen on The Bill Engvall Show which Nine have been using as cheap filler around the schedule over the past year or two.

  2. I saw 1 episode of this show…it scarred me for life.

Somone mentioned they kept this instead of ‘Back to you’ because of Brad Garretts wage costs?? Wouldn’t Kelsey Grammar have been a much larger salary considering that Frasier was both a critical and ratings smash?

  3. Brad Garrett was great in Everybody Loves Raynond, however ‘Til Death was a horrible series. American programmers have a lot to answer for when drivel like this lasts for years, yet a fantastic series like ‘The Norm Show’ got cancelled after 3 years. I enjoyed the series Back to You, however felt it went downhill about halfway through the season. As for Rules of Engagement – one of my current favourites, so many great one liners

  4. This show should have been axed long ago,and on the same station screening at a very bad time was Sons Of Tucson was given the chop very early on certainly deserved more support as it had potential

  5. I actually thought the first couple of seasons with the young neighbours were actually quite good. When they got rid of them the show totally lost it’s focus and didn’t feel like it was about anything.

  6. Also, regional SA & WA haven’t been getting this either.

Who has the rights to Everybody Loves Raymond these days? Haven’t seen it on TEN for awhile. Maybe Nine could pick that up?

  7. What a horrible show!

I remember when Nine played this at the 7pm slot during the Olympics a few years back. There was mass hatred everywhere, riots on the streets

  8. @ s5000 –

oh yeah I completely agree, Back To You was hilarious, I tried Til’ Death out but didn’t get past one episode. but if Fox didn’t cancel Back to You, then we wouldn’t have Ty Burrell in Modern Family (he was in Back To You). I got the BTY dvd recently for $20 from JB and plan on watching it again soon. there are tones of axed shows that deserved a better chance (Back to You) and shows that needed to be axed sooner (Til Death).

  9. S5000: One of the main reasons why Fox renewed this show over Back To You (and continued to renew it for several years afterwards) was because of the massive amount of money that had been invested in it, most of it being Brad Garrett’s post-Raymond salary.
