SKY News will be offering extensive coverage of Australia Day celebrations across its channels.

As the Official Subscription Television Broadcaster of Australia Day 2011, it will cover the day from 5.45am until midnight on Wednesday, January 26.

Highlights include:

· First Edition will be live from the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra as the sun rises on our National Capital.

· SKY News Local reporters will be stationed around the country with details of what’s happening in their local city.

· SKY News will have complete live coverage of the official flag raising ceremony in Canberra and also be on hand as new citizens are welcomed around the nation.

· Live coverage of the spectacular fireworks display at Darling Harbour in Sydney.

· Interviews throughout the day with some of Australia’s sporting icons.

SKY News Business will also be flying the green and gold with a day long look at Australian achievements in the corporate sector and conversations with uniquely Australian business identities.

A-PAC; Australia’s Public Affairs Channel (Channel 648), will be all-Australian, offering complete encore presentations of the Australian of Year Awards and the Australia Day Address plus celebrations around the nation.
