The TEN Network has rejected a push by Nine’s managing director Jeff Browne to rejoin Free TV Australia’s advertising revenue data service.
Last July TEN walked away from the ad revenue data pool after concerns with its competitors’ methods of compiling the data.
For the six months to June 30th, 2010, Seven finished on top with a network share of 37.94% of ad revenue with Nine having a 33.18% share and TEN 28.88%.
Browne has written to TEN’s new board effectively asking them to override CEO Grant Blackley’s decision to discontinue its association.
But a TEN spokesman rejected the idea. “The reason for our decision was detailed last year and our position has not changed,” she said.
The Free TV numbers are collected, but not audited, by accountancy firm KPMG. The data provide analysts and investors with a guide of network revenue.
“The debate about performance would be far more objective if all networks submitted to the decision of an independent umpire, KPMG,” said Browne.
Free TV Australia is jointly owned by TEN, Nine and Seven.

Boo hoo, what’s the bets they’ll start participating again if they start pulling some decent advertising revenue figures.
Sounds like Ten is trying to be honest while Seven and Nine fudge their numbers.
Sounds like ten are being bitches.
