Tug of war over Larry Emdur

Could Larry Emdur quit Seven to return to Nine and co-host the Today show?

More speculation today over the future of Karl Stefanovic’s on the Today show with a report that Nine is looking to lure Larry Emdur back to a possible replacement.

Emdur has been with Seven since 2005 when he hosted Wheel of Fortune and has been co-hosting The Morning Show since mid-2007.

News Limited reports he has six months remaining on his contract with Seven.

Nine spokesman David Hurley said: “We think he’s a great and versatile talent . . . and if he happened to come home we’d regard that as a good result.”

  1. @ David Knox I was only voicing my mother’s opinion about Larry Emdur. It doesn’t necessarily mean the opinion of everyone.

As for not publishing my surname, I never do. Its the same when emailing. However if anyone wants to know who I’am, my site URL is published with it.

I’m sorry if my comment came across as bad. I was only voicing my opinion about him. I didn’t mean anything by it.

  2. I hope this comes true in six months that Larry returns to Nine.He would be awesome as a game show host and what would be welcome is a new version of the Price is Right.
If they made that the 7pm staple from Mid 2011 onwards and reduce the older episodes of 2.5 men to the summer non ratings period like any other channel would do you would get the best of both worlds and some rather happy viewers.

  3. I like Lisa and Karl together, they click, I agree that Karl is able do serious news/interviews very well along with being light hearted at other times. Today needs to drop Wilko and Steve Jacobs, that is where things are stale.

I do think there is some merrit in the suggestion of Nat and Larry taking over Sunrise eventually, but, Larry and Kylie do have great chemistry on the Morning Show… I personally watch (if home) 10’s 9am News and The Circle for mid mornings.

  4. I still think Lisa is the weak link of the team. Georgie is far better then her in most respects.

As for Larry…well, I always thought he was a w@nker for getting snippy at excited Price is Right contestants who would run down to greet him with: ‘Hi Larry, how’s it going’?

With that attitude he will fit right in at Today.
