Airdate: The Quiksilver Pro

ONE has picked up the rights to part of the ASP World Tour, instead of Pay TV.

ONE has picked up the rights to airing The Quiksilver Pro.

Part of the ASP World Tour, it will be broadcast Live on free-to-air television instead of Pay TV.

The Quiksilver Pro will be held at the southern end of the Gold Coast’s Snapper Rocks, between February 26 and March 9. Competing are ASP Men’s World Champion Kelly Slater (USA), two-time ASP Men’s World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS), and hometown hero Joel Parkinson (AUS).

ONE HD which will broadcast Live from February 26 at 10am (AEDST), will boast the world’s top male surfers

ONE HD will also broadcast the first stop on the 2011 ASP Women’s World Tour, The Roxy Pro presented by Land Rover, which will feature four-time champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) and Carissa Moore (HAW).

  1. Next thing they should poach from pay-tv: Wimbledon, French Open and U.S. Open tennis. The U.S. Open will not clash with the AFL season and the tournament can only be shown on ONE instead of TEN entirely.

  2. They do things like this which are good for sports fans, but then they show movies, documentaries on trees & oil, and are now cutting their Monday night football show World Football News to 30 minutes, putting it on a Tuesday and putting it late at night.

    Give with one hand and take from the other.
