Dexter creator to visit Melbourne

Novelist Jeff Lindsay, who created the character of Dexter Morgan, will speak at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

Novelist Jeff Lindsay, who created the character of Dexter Morgan in his book Darkly Dreaming Dexter will visit Australia next month.

Lindsay will speak at Fairy Tales Re-imagined, a two-day symposium at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image that will explore how traditional fairy tales are being reworked by visual artists, filmmakers and popular culture.

In conversation with Professor Sue Turnbull, Lindsay will speak about the influence of fairytales on his writing. This will include time an audience Q&A and a post-event book signing.

Fairy Tales Re-imagined is at ACMI on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 March.

    Agreed – I just finished the first three books in a rush (and am a massive fan of the show). Some characters are so different you just have to forget the TV personas (Vince!) but you can also see some interesting avenues in the books that they would not dare take on TV… I’d be keen to know what Lindsay thinks of the series.
