Good News Week filmed its first 2011 show in front of 2,000 punters at Sydney’s State Theatre on Thursday night.

Guests included Josh Thomas, Cal Wilson, Tom Gleeson, Kitty Flanagan, Fiona O’Loughlin, Matt Preston, Akmal, Kasey Chambers, Reggie Watts and a purple puppet called Randy.

In the firing line were such targets as Barnaby Joyce, Nicole and Keith, Hey Hey it’s Saturday, and Mexicans.

Akmal accosted Randy for a make out session and Cal and Fiona admitted to wanting to get naked with Josh Thomas.

Randy said of his experience, “I loved every bit except the part where I was facially molested by Akmal. That was a bit much for me.”

It returns to TEN on Monday 7th February at 9:30pm.

  1. bad news gang….they are going back to Crime shows on Ten at that hour from next week
I liked this show when it was on at 8:30pm as an alternative to those overdone cartoons and other crap SBS used to show at the same time,
not a happy day for all.

  2. Is Akmal as unfunny and unintelligent live as he appears to be on TV? I’m curious why is so regularly featured on this show. Maybe I’m missing something.

  3. I was lucky enough to attend this on thursday night. Long night 7pm- 11pm filming, but a great night out. Paul McDermott is great at keeping everyone entertained and the “show” going on during the downtime when they arent filming .
Apart from some “redo’s” they did, i find it hard how they will fit 3 hours worth of taping into 1-2 hours 🙂
Standouts Randy the puppet and Reggie Watts.
