Tim Minchin does an 'Arj Barker' and is booked to appear on both Ben Elton Live and Adam Hills next week.

First it was Arj Barker.

Now it’s Tim Minchin who will appear on both Ben Elton Live from Planet Earth and Adam Hills In Gordon Street Tonight.

What are the odds?

Elton announced Minchin would be a guest at the end of his show last week.

Yesterday the ABC announced the next guests for Hillsy: comedian Tim Minchin, supermodel and actress Megan Gale, and director Peter Weir. American band Neon Trees provides the music.

  1. For the record, both shows had knob jokes and talked about scrotum waxing for a minute. I’m a bit cranky at ABC for pretending that its show is live (when was the last time they did live comedy? The Big Gig? The D-Gen Late Show?) when it turned out to have 2 days of post-production, hmmmm.

    Next week I’m definitely looking forward to two things: Tim Minchin, and the next “Barbara from Bankworld” interview on Planet Earth.

  2. He’s one of the world’s leading comedians, he’s Australian, he’s home in Australia – it’s a no brainer that both these shows would want him! Let’s hope he can lift Ben’s show – we really need a show like this to fire – otherwise as tomothy said nine will fill the slot with 2.5 men or some other rubbish American show!

    However, would 9 please advise exactly what time Tim will be on Planet Earth so we can just tune in for his bits…?

  7. I’m suprised Ben Elton Live from Planet Earth is getting a second episode. I know they have contracted for four episodes, but it would have been cheaper just to cancel it and pay the cast and fill the slot with 2.5 men like they always do.
