Ex-Biggest Loser contestant jailed

A Biggest Loser contestant who triggered a frantic re-edit of the show before its 2010 launch, has been sentenced to two years' jail.

A short-lived Biggest Loser contestant, who triggered a frantic re-edit of the show before its 2010 launch, has been jailed for possessing child pornography.

Deryck James Ward, 28 of Brisbane,yesterday pleaded guilty to four counts of using the internet to access child pornography material and one count of possessing child exploitation material between December 21, 2009 and January 16, 2010.

FremantleMedia hurriedly edited Ward and his sister from the TEN series prior to the reality show’s premiere last year, requiring entire challenges and hours of completed footage to be excised.

Judge Michael Shanahan ordered Ward’s 2 year jail term be suspended after serving six months and imposed an additional two years’ probation.
