Channel [V] will screen Beastie Boys short film Fight For Your Right Revisited, which marks the 25th anniversary of their debut album, as part of a global release on April 21.
It features celeb names including Danny McBride, Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom.
The 30-minute film, produced to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Beastie Boys’ debut album, License to Ill, is based on the hip hop pioneers’ 1987 hit (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party). Part music video, part comedy, the short film is a sequel to the original video for the smash hit single. It is an epic tale that chronicles what happened to the trio following the events of the video and features Beastie Boys of the past, present and future.
Fight For Your Right Revisited features a celeb-fuelled cast which includes Danny McBride, Elijah Wood and Seth Rogen as the young Beastie Boys, with Will Ferrell, Jack Black and John C Reilly playing their older selves. It also stars the three Beasties, Adam Horovitz, Mike D and Adam Yauch (who directed the film) as well as Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Kirsten Dunst and Orlando Bloom, among a list of other famous faces that make cameos.
The film is being released in conjunction with the long anticipated eighth album from Beastie Boys, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, which is out on April 29.
Channel [V] will premiere Fight For Your Right Revisited on Thursday 21 April at 2.00pm, it will
then premiere on MAX at 10.30pm the same day.
