Betty White will host a hidden camera show where senior citizens prank much younger members of the public.

89-year-old Betty White is now taking up a TV hosting job in a US adaptation of a Belgium hidden camera show where senior citizens prank much younger members of the public.

The show is NBC’s Off Their Rockers, based on the Belgium series, Benidorm Bastards.

“People have been telling me that I’m ‘Off My Rocker’ for years – now I can prove it,” joked White.

To be clear, White is hosting the show rather than appearing in pranks -it would no doubt be a bit difficult given her fame. Recently she claimed she wanted to cut down on work, but it doesn’t seem to be happening, with Hot in Cleveland already renewed for a third season. Go Betty!

Last year Benidorm Bastards won a prestigious Rose d’Or Award.

  1. This reminds me of a sketch on ABC’s the Late Show examining the conspiracy of old people wasting young people’s time (with a cameo from Santo’s grandpa).

  2. They had better not work her too hard! She is 89 for heavens sake! Giving her more to do on Hot in Cleveland and improving the scripts at the same time would be a better idea,

  3. Isn’t it scary when you realise she’s the only Golden Gal left alive?

    A wonderful talent – but Hot in Cleveland is a waste.

    Off Their Rockers actually sounds like it could be fun…
