Here’s a clip of Showtime’s new drama series Homeland, a new psychological thriller.
It stars Claire Danes as a CIA officer who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of a U.S. soldier (Damian Lewis) who had been missing and presumed dead was a set-up and may be connected to an Al Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil.
Mandy Patinkin plays a veteran CIA Division Chief who is her boss and mentor.
Homeland is written by 24′s Howard Gordon, plus Alex Gansa and Gideon Raff.
No word on an Aussie broadcaster yet.

Just like petty much every good new U.S. show this year no Australian network will have the balls to pick it up and screen it within a reasonable time frame…
TEN has Homeland (please read Comments Policy next time?).
A Showtime drama of 13ish episodes might be a bit more manageable for Mandy. I’m watching for Damian Lewis.
Homeland looks like it has an interesting concept, good production values, talented writers and very watchable actors, so yes I’ll be watching it.
However, like some others here, I wonder how long it’ll be before Mandy Patinkin decides to bail, as he’s so fond of doing. Still, those other shows survived without him and I think this one looks strong enough to do the same.
Yes but will Mandy Patinkin be able to stick it out if it takes off (he’s bailed on two hits so far!)
Thanks for the head up David. I will follow this show because Mandy Patinkin is in it. Let’s hope he and the show will stick around for a few seasons. I missed Dead Like Me dearly but grateful for the two seasons it ran.
god this looks and sounds so utterly predictable….24 all over again.
Yawn.
Mandy – tick.
Damien – tick.
And it looks really good. Time will tell whether the writing remains at a high standard.
It’s prob too much to hope that ABC or SBS would get this. It might work for Ten and they might give it the slot it deserves.
I’ll probably watch whenever it gets here, but i still don’t like what she did to Ben Lee.
It is Very new – not listed yet on epguides.com/
Looks interesting, look forward to it.
Sounds/looks good but this might not even play in the US until 2012, why the wait and uncertainty?
Damien Lewis. Excellent!!
Looks fascinating! I can’t wait to see more about it. 🙂
