The Airdate isn’t official yet but don’t expect to see The Amazing Race Australia before at least mid-May.

So far producers seem to have done everything right in terms of the right ingredients for this show: good host, diverse casting, international destinations, aerial shoots and secrecy.

The proof will be in the pudding but it’s looking a lot more promising than many other shows that often get lost in translation. Fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, a reminder that a new episode of the US series is now 7:30pm Wednesdays on 7mate.

Is that where the Aussie version will be going on Seven? Hmmmmmm……

  1. I see on the Pump Facebook page that they are running an Amazing Race style treasure hunt to coincide with the series with over $30k in prizes. Sounds like a lot of fun!

  2. I hope we get some interesting characters here other than the usual stereotypes.
I looked at the contestants on Channel 7’s website and there’s a couple with cowboy hats?! Exact Australian translation to Jet & Cord!

It was sad how Survivor didn’t work out for Australia. Maybe a better revival to come cos it is a great format.

  3. This in it’s original format was best when they used it up against 9’s footy show 9:30 to 10:30pm and as a lead in to family guy when the latter was a seven show.

  4. @ Paul, have you ever tried to watch two different seasons of The Amazing Race at the same time?

I’m happy Seven is holding off the Australian version until post the American version, or it will confuse viewers both of the varying timeslot, contestants and locations.

  5. The Amazing Race Australia is yet to start but bottled water brand Pump has already started a competition in which you can win a trip to destinations featured in the series. You have to buy a specially labelled bottle to enter.
