Daytime Emmy Awards 2011: nominees
Ellen beats Oprah for nominations, and two cancelled soaps score well in Daytime TV's awards event.

Long-running soap General Hospital was the most-nominated show, with 21 nods, followed by The Young and the Restless with 20 noms, and Sesame Street earned 16.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show received 12 nominations over The Oprah Winfrey Show’s 5.
The Today show and The View each earned six.

All My Children ABC
The Bold and the Beautiful CBS
General Hospital ABC
Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment:
The Ellen DeGeneres Show
Live with Regis and Kelly
Rachael Ray
The View ABC

The Dr. Oz Show
Dr. Phil
The awards take place on June 19th, hosted by Wayne Brady.

Etertainment Tonight reported yesterday that General Hospital could be the next soapie axed, if Katie Couric gets her own afternoon chat show.
