Gold Logie nominees: Rebecca, Jessica

Two more Gold Logie nominees go under the TV Tonight spotlight, ahead of tonight’s big event: the Rafters girls Jessica Marais and previous Gold winner Rebecca Gibney.

Following on from Friday’s story with Chrissie Swan, Asher Keddie and Adam Hills this completes a closer look at how the nominees rate their chances.

1. How do you rate your chances?
I was completely surprised and genuinely thrilled to receive the Gold nomination. The nomination is more than enough of an accomplishment for me.

2. Who is your main competition?
I feel proud to be considered in company with them – particularly Bec and Asher, because they are both actors whose work really inspires me. And Adam Hills is a crack up -I love him!

3. Who is the dark horse?
Maybe Chrissie Swan, she’s really fun.

4. What does it mean to win a Logie?
The Gold nominations mean that in some way each nominee has connected with the television audience – and that people feel they deserve recognition for their hard work. The best thing about being nominated is that I can bring my mother as a guest- in this industry it’s quite rare to let your family see first-hand some of the behind the scenes excitement.

5. What was the highlight of your 2010 TV year?
The continuing success of Rafters. We were very proud of the episodes we did towards the end of the season, dealing with Melissa’s death, So, that would have to be it.

6. Why should viewers vote for you?
That’s a hard one! I’m just happy to be nominated!

1. How do you rate your chances?
One in six!! Whatever happens, happens. We are all just so thrilled for the 15 nominations for the show. Not bad, after four seasons!!

2. Who is your main competition?
I’d have to say my on screen daughter, Jess Marais. She’s so divine, and I’d be thrilled if she won!

3. Who is the dark horse?
Chrissie Swan. It’s a very diverse group this year, and Chrissie has a strong following. I met her in Sydney, and she’s gorgeous.

4. What does it mean to win a Logie?
It’s another testament to the success of the show. Makes me proud.

5. What was the highlight of your 2010 TV year?
The way the audience reacted to the death of Mel. It was powerful to watch and be a part of. They were great episodes. Although we miss Zoe! Can’t wait to see her Sunday.

6. Why should viewers vote for you?
Because I’m ‘noice’. No, really, I’m grateful to be working on such a fab show, with fab people. And loving that the audience is loving it too!
