Phil Keoghan sticks with Amazing Race

Phil Keoghan will be credited as a co-executive producer on Amazing Race and also develop content for CBS.

Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan has signed a multiyear deal to continue with the show on CBS.

Under the deal, Keoghan will be credited as a co-executive producer and also develop content for the network. Jeff Probst has been an Executive Producer on Survivor for some time now.

“Most of what I do is behind-the-scenes,” Keoghan tells TV Guide. “My energy has been consumed with other duties besides just being in front of the camera. I’ve always enjoyed that side of it.

“I’ve been talking to CBS about developing other projects,” he says. “It’s been a part of what I’ve done for years anyway. I’m constantly thinking up new ideas and ways of sharing stories.”

Amazing Race was renewed in March for its 19th season after avering nearly 12 million viewers despite competition from NFL games on NBC.

Seven’s local version of the show premieres on Monday.
