Look out America. Wilfred is coming.
Here is Jason Gann, in full dog suit, in the audience of this week’s American Idol.
He is joined by Elijah Wood who appears with him in the series that premieres on FX in June.
Looks a bit like that night in 2007 when Wilfred was sitting at the 2007 Logies! Woof.
You can catch it tonight at 7:30pm on FOX8.

@ Russel.
There is a massive difference between copying well written fictional comedy and rehashed reality crap. Wilfred should go to air in the U.S. as it is. It would be like Aussies doing a remake of Every body Loves Raymond.
Give him a Punter Ponting
I saw him in the audience when I looked up at the screens at the gym last night and it looked surreal.
@ Armchair & Russell
Plus if the US adaptation is popular, the network/producers get the added upside of profiting from DVD sales, which they don’t have if they’re just screening the foreign version.
I know Australia’s Wilfred is on hulu.com in the US. Hope his appearance on American Idol will inspire US fans to watch the US remake.
@Armchair
This old argument again. Have you forgotten that Australia adapts dozens of foreign formats for our tastes. X factor idol big brother masterchef beauty and the geek amazing race top model project runway the list goes on and on
Why? Because networks know Australian versions of these shows will rate a lot higher than US versions
And that is exactly why US networks do it too
Aussie audiences favour our own shows over foreign ones, and so do Americans
Who the fark is wilfred?

I think the Oz lingo was perfect and I thought it was a great part of the show. Hope they keep it. F****ing He** Wilfred!
Right on Armchair Analyst! I can’t stand ignorant people in those countries that don’t accept the culture of others.
Tuggaduggaduggaduggaduggadugga!
I wonder how the american media reacted to this after the show aired. The one thing i dont like when australian shows get changed for the sake of the american audience is why? I mean we have to put up with their versions why cant they just buy the australian version and thats it, although i kind of know the answer to that already because americans cant undertand any other english accent but theirs. Just goes to show how stupid an uncultured they are.
I think this will be a smash hit in US, while Angry Boys is going to cop a lot of flack.
Tugga dugga dugga dugga dugga!
Too funny. 😆
Crazy but good!
