X Factor judges confirmed: Nat Bass (Aus), Cheryl Cole (US).

Done deal. Natalie Bassingthwaighte will join The X Factor Australia and Cheryl Cole will join Simon Cowell's US edition.

The rumours are true with two X Factor judges confirmed, on separate shores.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte will join The X Factor Australia and Cheryl Cole will join Simon Cowell’s upcoming US edition.

Bassingthwaighte, a former host of So You Think You Can Dance Australia and Rogue Traders vocalist, will replace Natalie Imbruglia for the show’s second season with Seven. The show is produced by FremantleMedia which produced both Dance and Australian Idol.

“It’s not so much about being nasty, but just about being truthful. The best part for me will be guiding the artists through the competition,” she told Who magazine.

She joins Ronan Keating, Guy Sebastian and Mel B.

Meanwhile Cheryl Cole (The X Factor, Girls Aloud) is joining the debut X Factor in the US, joining Simon Cowell and record producer L.A. Reid.

Cole said: “I’m so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor.

“I absolutely love it here in the UK, and with the talent they have out in America, I’m sure we’re going to find someone very special. I can’t wait to get started.

A fourth judge for the US series is still expected.

  1. Cole is awesome at what she does. She has won X Factor UK twice and runner up once from 3 years. Thats one good record. She is going to be awesome and i hope America gets her as well as X Factor. The Voice has done well for NBC the past couple of weeks and i thought the show was brilliant. X Factor is going to go off. I can just feel it. Lets hope Foxtel or one of the digital channels pick it up because i want to see X Factor.

As for Nat Bass for our version. She is in a way the perfect judge. She has done acting, singing and theatre. She has the credentials so lets see her put them to the test. They wouldn’t have hired her if they thought she couldnt do the job.

  2. I must agree that The Voice on NBC has taken X-Factor to a much higher level, it will be interesting to see if X-Factor really does click in the US. I am hoping that singing competitions can be rested in Australia for a few years or so.

  3. I hope to god that Foxtel comes through & shows the US version of X Factor later this year, it’s going to be fantastic.
Congrats to Nat Bass – she’s the perfect judge for X Factor – she is a recording artist, actress & appeared in theatre – she knows her stuff!

  4. I like Cheryl she could be be fun plus she is smoking Hot 😀
As for Nat like a few have said on SYTYCD she annoyed me a little maybe on a new show it might be different.

  5. I quite like Nat so am looking forward to seeing her. But I quite like the other Nat (Imbruglia); does anybody know why her contract was not renewed?

  6. lol whatever you reckon KFed, whatever you reckon!
@Craig h: agree completely. It seems Cowell heavily petitioned Fox to put her on the show, but I bet it’s going to backfire!
@Jerome: loving The Voice and would not be at all surprised if Ten bid for the Aussie rights to that one!!

  7. NBCs ‘The Voice’ has scored some huge names for it’s judging panel and it is a huge hit. Hopefully the 4th x factor US judge is someone huge. Cheryl and LA might be great judges but would hardly have pulling power in a American audience.

  8. I cannot stand Nat Bass, she is such a phony and terrible presenting talent. I’m actually holding back now because my dislike seems borders on insane. But she was terrible on SYTYCD. Terrible.
