The show will cover topics ranging from newsmakers of the day to families and individuals facing challenges.

CBS president of programming and development Aaron Meyerson said, “Anyone who has seen Jeff on Survivor knows how he connects with people and has an instinct that makes him a natural and compelling host for daytime.

“Whether it’s a newsmaker-of-the-day, a celebrity or ordinary folks, Jeff will go further than typical discussion.”

Added Probst: “I’m fascinated with human nature and thrilled that this show will allow me the opportunity to connect with real people and explore their stories on a personal level.”

The new show is more than a year away, not scheduled to air until the Fall season in 2012.

  1. I certainly remember Phil Donahue, Dinah Shore and Sally Jesse Raphael. Dinah Shore was great. I was, of course, a mere toddler watching those shows.

  2. isn’t Anderson Cooper getting a syndicated talk show as well? maybe the new trend will be male presenters in daytime!

still Katie Couric and Rosie O’Donnell are getting their own shows too, certainly takes alot of people to fill the shoes of Oprah!

  3. What the hell? A male daytime presenter? No. This is an error.
    Lol.
In all seriousness though, what will his show be called?
    The Probe with Jeff?
