RPA: June 22

RPA this week has one returning and three new patients in profile.

More cases undergo the knife and the RPA cameras at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney tomorrow night.

In the final part of Julie’s story we watch this brave flight attendant’s enduring strength as she undergoes radiotherapy to beat cancer. We also meet three new patients who share their confronting, candid, medical stories.

Julie
In round two of her fight for survival Julie, 23, shows tremendous courage and strength as she begins radiotherapy after scans that have revealed cancerous tumours in the brain and other parts of her body.

Emma
Emma was pregnant with twins two years ago but lost them at 20 weeks. Now she is pregnant again and has reached 25 weeks, but complications have occurred once more and she is confined to bed to try and get her baby to term.

Steve
Steve is rushed to Emergency after falling head-first onto rocks while fishing on a cliff. He has a head wound but doctors believe he might have also sustained more serious injuries.

Carol
Carol noticed a growth on her ear a few years ago. It has since spread considerably and threatens to penetrate her brain. She hasn’t seen a doctor in 25 years and now she needs a team of three surgeons to save her life.

The RPA series is narrated by Australian actor and artist, Max Cullen.

It airs Wednesday, June 22, at 8.30pm on Nine
