Dani wins MasterChef Immunity

As predicted, Dani Venn did indeed win an Immunity pin on MasterChef Australia last night.

As predicted, Dani Venn did indeed win an Immunity pin on MasterChef Australia last night.

The 25 year old publicist went head to head with Alessandro Pevoni, whipping up his own creation. But Pevoni was denied a recipe for his own dish that he hadn’t cooked in some time, while Dani was given the essentials, plus a head start.

By the time the challenge was over, the judges had them tied on 22 points each -enough for Dani to nab a prized Immunity pin.

But her good fortune had already been fore-shadowed by a promo for tonight’s group challenge, which showed her clearly wearing an Immunity pin.

Tonight’s 90 minute episode will also resolve the outcome for Mat Beyer, who has been widely reported as having been booted from the show in one of the season’s biggest dramatic turns.

But just how will it play out?

  1. i thought i was being a bit bitter and twisted, but was amazed that the entire world shares my opinion regarding the lack of cooking ability shown – since Day 1 for both Dani and Ellie. Dani is, without a doubt the most supported and favorite contestant that the judges have ever had. Must be nice to have a pet!
for goodness sake allow the elimination process to work in the way it ought to. i have been watching every episode of each of the three competitions – but this is really too much. you will lose me, and many other avid fans if you don’t start treating everyone fairly.

  2. Dani is rubbish. She should have been eliminated ages ago. Its sad to see so many other talented people taken out of the show and see her scrape her way through again and again. I don’t recall anything that she has done that has been exceptional. Its a bit of a joke.

  3. I couldn’t believe it when Dani was put up against a swimmer, Because he won the Cedlebrity MasterChef?!? Whoop-di-do!! I could run rings around those celebrities in a kitchen with my eyes shut And my hands tied behind my back!! Dani is and always has been the weakest cook in the competition, bar prehaps Ellie, yet these 2 keep coming through and winning pathetic challenges that wouldn’t get them anywhere in a real kitchen. They both complain, cry at anything good or bad, and always without fail forget something in a recipe. To me both of them should not be in the competition any more, they should have been eliminated ages ago. I think a this season is more about selling the merchandise than it is about the actual skill involved in the cooking. If either Dani or Ellie were in the kitchen of my restaurant they would’ve been fired a long time ago!!

  4. That episode was bullsh!t — Dani;s immunity challenge against non-chef?? Come on, Dani’s cooking skills are inconsistent (re New York), her whimpering annoying and cries at a drop of a hat. It’s very clear that Australia’s Masterchef is rigged. No more Masterchef for me — it has lost all credibility.

  5. Its beyond belief how Dani keeps on passing ,last night at the united nations her chocolate dessert was an embarrassment,a child could have done better,Billy’s might not have been popular with the guest, but, the work he put into it was well worth considering,Dani’s other attempt t night before (cup cakes) was another failed recipe,I am beginning to think the show has its favourites, and Dani is surely one of them, also Ellie is highly favoured,if either of these two win, then I really will not watch the series again, its far to biased.

  6. If there was bias why aren’t we hearing from other former contestants this year?? It’s obvious they are not afraid of speaking out from what we’ve seen in recent weeks.

Also what’s the point in having an immunity challenge if it’s so unattainable? There will be times when celebrity chefs make mistakes and scores will go in the contestant’s favour. I agree that there are no great quality cooks or stand outs this year but find it amusing how everyone claims not to be watching :/

  7. I didn’t watch too much as Dani is my least favourite person and I had a feeling it was time for some one else to win the pin. A little too contrived for me,

  8. It was rigged!
What a crock of slow roasted s.. Masterchef is. No one could really believe an inexperienced home cook could score higher than a chef of 20 years experience – Alessandro Pavoni, whose chefs hat restaurant Ormeggio at the Spit is rated in the top 50 restaurants in Australia.
That man from Buon Ricordo who scored low, should retire from the game.
It was so obvious from the plating that Pavoni’s dish was the best.
The show is a fake – and I won’t be bothered watching Masterchef anymore.

  9. Its nice to see a happy, positive and glass half full contestant. Danni has proven herself to be a good cook and yeah she may have had some help last night from the chef but that is because he wanted to and he also took some of Danni’s food.

As opposed to dreary negative Sun who always sees the downside to things and even win she wins as captain doesnt get excited. Even last night she said well now it will be harder to reach the final.

I do agree thought hat they focus on the same contestants especially on a sunday and even some team challenges. Poor Alana doesnt get much of a look in.

  10. A very disappointing season this year; not only the contestants r very ordinary, but also the judges are biased. How could Dani win immunity?? If the reality TV show is not real, it is Not a reality TV show. It is a drama TV series.

All my friends r disappointed with the season this yr and have given up watching it. I think the show last night has put me off, because the judges played favoritism.

I also believe all the celebrity chefs should Stop going to MasterChef Australia, because they will destroy their genuine and hard-earned reputations. I do feel sorry for Alessandro Pevoni. Now, everyone knows he is just an average chef in Sydney. How embarrassing!!!

Now, they r releasing the decision about Matt to play down the stupidity from last night.

In sum, the poor quality of contestants this season results in playing favoritism to get better ratting on TV. It is Sad for the show and Sad for Australians.
