Manu wins Dancing with the Stars

My Kitchen Rules judge Manu Feildel has won Dancing with the Stars 2011.

Feildel beat out Hayley Bracken for the 2011 title in a 3 hour live finale on Seven.

Singer Damien Leith was eliminated mid-way through the show leaving a contest between the French chef and the wife of former Australian cricketer Nathan Bracken, a series contestant himself.

But in the final dances Bracken’s freelance performance didn’t connect with the judges as well as Feildel, scoring 8s and 9s to his perfect 10s.

The win for Feildel is the seventh time a Channel Seven star has taken out the title.

Feildel, whose popularity had continued to grow from My Kitchen Rules and Dancing will next host a new dating series for Seven, Dinner Date.

The eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars showed the variety / reality show still has life, delivering strong ratings and plenty of media including for contestants Brynne Edelsten, Lara Bingle and new judge Josh Horner.

  1. Totally discussed by DWTS never seen anything so Rigged. Ovious for weeks they were scoring Manu high when he is hopeless. I switched off as soon as i knew there was a dance off judged by the judges on the final night. If this is not rigged nothing is, that dance was put in so they could kick Damian out and stop him winning.

  3. How the hell did this happen? Channel 7 has done it again, season whatever we are up to and yet again a Seven personality comes from nowhere to take the crown, coincidence, I don’t think so. Dear Mrs Bracken was the best dancer by at least 10 lengths of the dance floor and then some, even after her the Irishman was definitely second. However we just had to have someone from the Seven Stable take the trophy yet again. As Derryn would say, “Shame, Shame, Shame.”

    I was only talking about the Australian version. I wasn’t referring the rest of the world.
    It can raise profiles. But sometimes it ultimately backfires. Like Brynne. Everyone I know pitied her. She maybe a model now. But she didn’t have to go through the humiliation that she went through because of the show.
    I remember something similar happened to an old Aussie Idol contestant on dancing with the stars a few years back.

    And all I’m hearing from everyone of how a disappointment this season was…
    The only good things in it was Samantha, Damien, Manu and the money that is going to charity that they have won.

    If Dancing with the Stars. Isn’t able to have Stars in it why bother? It might do the country a favor. It’s quite annoying to have a celebrity show with half of the contestants you’ve never have heard off.

    I wouldn’t worry about 9…7 will still be a power house every other day of the week.

    Atleast it’s over now.

  6. The only good thing about the final is that this rubbish is over for another year. No more Dancing with the slightly bordering on “stars”. Oh and what a surprise he won. Does the other cooking show start soon or something?

  7. Totally disappointed in DWTS. Manu’s only good dance was his final dance and I think he practised that one. As for the dance offs – he never danced an inch. What a crock. Won’t be bothering to watch next year. This was just a blatant fix right from beginning. Hayley certainly was top dancer but not a celeb. Damien should have one. Manu loves himself. Cannot believe how everyone got sucked in by him. He will be worse than ever now. How can Todd give a score of 5 to Damien a couple of weeks ago for a good dance and then give Manu a 9 when he hardly moved an inch. Lose this show. Bring back SYTYCD where young dancers are judged on their talent…. oops wrong channel!!!

    But was anyone really suprised…..?!?!?!?
    Ch.7 star….new show coming up…..
    I did not even watch this show…but guessed the winner.
