Returning: Misfits

One of 2010's hidden gems is returning to ABC2 with a new series.

At long last Misfits is returning to ABC2.

This UK drama was one of 2010’s hidden gems and deservedly picked up a BAFTA Award for Best Drama.

In the new series the gang are still on community service and still trying to adapt to their new lives: Nathan (Robert Sheehan) has just found out he is immortal – but he’s in a coffin six feet under; Kelly’s (Lauren Socha) mourning Nathan’s death; Curtis (Nathan Stewart Jarrett) and Alisha (Antonia Thomas) still can’t touch each other due to Alisha’s magnetic, sexually charged super power…

And Simon (Iwan Rheon) is hiding their probation worker’s body in a freezer…

Meanwhile, there is a new, mysterious, masked figure watching over them from afar…

A third season is in production in the UK.

The mysterious man in the mask leads Curtis, Kelly, Alisha and Simon to Nathan’s grave – Nathan is still alive but buried six feet under.

Back at the community centre, Lucy (Evelyn Hoskins) turns up on day release from a psychiatric ward. Simon knows her as he used to be a patient at the same place, but when he meets her again and snubs her, some strange things start to happen.

It resumes Friday, July 29th at 9.30pm on ABC2.

  1. Excellent news! Odd choice of timeslot for this show (and target demographic), but I’ll happily record it and watch it at another time.

Now if only ELEVEN would show that Amazing Race knock-off in areas other than Sydney, then my TV viewing would really improve.

  2. Argh! Why did they have to move it this timeslot?! Fri night is hardly appropriate for its target audience.

ABC2 has a habit of putting its decent shows on a Fri night…Tudors, Being Human, now Misfits.
