Australia’s Got Talent official: 2.98m

Timshifted figures for Australia’s Got Talent: The Winner Announced lift its record numbers even higher.

In overnight figures Australia’s Got Talent: The Winner Announced pulled 2.85m viewers, easily a record for the variety show.

After being adjusted according to its actual 10 min playing time, it grew to 2.908m.

Yesterday the Timeshifted results were in, adding in those people who watched on PVRs for up to 7 days later.

It grew by another 72,000, which is nothing special by any stretch but it does give us a final figure and a record for 2011:

2,980,000.

This officially makes it the biggest single audience of the year.

The largest audience for the year overall was for the Royal Wedding, roughly estimated at around 6 million viewers, but it was split across 4 networks.

Next week we will have the Timeshifted results for MasterChef‘s winner announcement, which will no doubt lift its numbers too, especially as some viewers may not have come back after The Renovators.

  1. @ ? Man:

Actually, not including timeshifted viewers, AGT did 4mil with the regionals included:

Description Total Sydney Melbourne Brisbane Adelaide Perth Queensland Northern NSW Southern NSW Victoria Tasmania
    1 Australia’s Got Talent- The Winner Announced Seven 4,000,000 887,000 876,000 489,000 319,000 283,000 331,000 227,000 257,000 191,000 140,000

  2. @Steve Sydney – it needs the “not” – what he means is that some people may have PVR’d the show and watched it later, rather than coming back to watch the live broadcast. The preliminary figures only include those who actually watched it live – those who didn’t return after “The Renovators”, but who recorded it and watched it later, will be included in the figures released next week.

  3. i never thought grant was anything special, dont think there is anyhting particularly wrong with him, he’s just meh, which is ok, the show is not about the host. but when you go to the live taping you realise how tough a job he actually has, people that congratulated peter hitchener for not making a disaster of a seagull walking past should see what Grant has to put up with on AGT. his job is much more than just reading an autocue, i doubt many people would be able to do the job the way he does, deserves a lot of credit IMO.

  4. Any body who doesn’t like the job Grant does should check out
America’s version, their compare is embarrassing…
When are one of the channels going to start up a variety show?? maybe we could get the “Old Fellow” a gig.

  5. I think Grant is this weakest link of Australia’s Got Talent. He is okay – but not the best.

They have these huge name judges in Kyle, Danni and Brian. They have these awsomely produced acts right throughout the final series, particularly the grand final…

And then this host… who granted, does a great job on Sunrise. But he just seems so tacky on Australia’s Got Talent. He is cheesey… on a show that’s trying to amaze people with their talents.

  6. Grant has really developed his presence and skills. Grant was the glue that held this excellent finale together. High production standards, professional stage direction and heaps of varied talent!!
Well done! I hate that Jack, he’s no winner, but I give full credit for the host, production, staging and varied talent!!!!
