Chaser team returns to ABC with news analysis show

The Chaser has now confirmed their next show, which we have been teased about for some weeks.
The team is returning to ABC with an original news analysis show.
The Hamster Wheel will be an 8 x 30 min series and will examine the contemporary media landscape, where everyone from journalists to political fixers is perpetually at risk of spinning out of control.
“I just can’t wait to get my hands on the ABC credit card again,” said Executive Producer Julian Morrow. “When it comes to dodgy uses of other people’s money, Craig Thomson’s got nothing on The Chaser team.”
Asked about the Chaser team’s return to ABC TV, Managing Director Mark Scott nodded to a certain media mogul, “This is the most humble day of my life.”
Kim Dalton, Director of ABC TV said of the title, “The Hamster Wheel? Peddling fast and getting nowhere. Very apt for The Chaser. When does the final episode go to air?”
Produced by Giant Dwarf Pty. Ltd., the series will go into production this week, and will premiere on ABC1 later this year.
Unless Buckingham Palace stops it first.

While I think The Chaser stopped being funny after their CNNNN show all I want to see is Micallef going back to doing Newstopia again.
Chris Taylor described it as “MediaWatch with jokes”, and if that turns out to be accurate then I can’t wait.
Thats great news! I think they do some great commentary on the media and CNNN will always be my favourite of their work. Great!

Yes please. These guys are hilarious. Their shows always deliver.
The concept sounds like it would make a good 5min regular segment on a news-based show. not a show itself.
While there’s no doubt that the boys have made a few stinkers in recent years, I do think we need a show that exposes the shennanigans in the media.
I’ll certainly watch a few eps to see if it’s any good.
I like em a lot – almost always 200 times better than everything else satirical on TV.
