Foxtel has delved into its archives to find an unscreened footage from an interview with Bruce and Denise Morcombe, parents of Daniel Morcombe who was abducted in 2003.

On Monday, August 22 at 7.30pm, Crime & Investigation Network will screen Tears For Daniel: The Family Speak, introduced by Sky News presenter Helen Dalley and hosted by Steve Liebmann.

Crime Investigation Australia re-creates the chilling story surrounding Daniel Morcombe’s abduction and investigates his tragic disappearance in Queensland in 2003.

On August 13, 2011, 41-year-old Perth man, Brett Peter Cowan, was charged with the murder of Daniel, almost eight years after the 13-year-old went missing.

This revealing CI Network special features compelling, never-before-seen interview footage, as Steve Liebmann talks intimately with Daniel’s parents Bruce and Denise, along with Daniel’s brother Dean and his twin brother Brad.

The documentary also brings the case up to the present day, by including recent news footage surrounding the arrest of Brett Peter Cowan as well as the statements made by both the police and Bruce and Denise Morcombe.

On December 7, 2003, 13-year old Daniel Morcombe went missing on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

It was a typically balmy Queensland summers day, when Daniel left his Palmdale home to catch a bus to nearby Maroochydore to buy Christmas presents for his family. The walk from Daniel’s home to the bus stop, at an underpass on a busy highway, was just 30 minutes and Daniel had made this trip many times before.

Following that, Daniel Morcombe simply vanished.

Crime Investigation Australia: TEARS FOR DANIEL – THE FAMLY SPEAK is produced by Graham McNeice Productions.
