David Mott says of The Renovators, “So far the format has underperformed. But it’s a brand we believe in so we are working directly with Shine to renovate The Renovators for 2011 and beyond.”

A spokewoman said it was too early to say whether there would be new seasons of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and Junior MasterChef in 2012 when the current seasons were only just on air or soon to air. TEN says it is yet to make a decision on whether it will revive It’s A Knockout.

Still to come this year are Class of 2011, Rush, Recruits: Paramedics and Good News World, from the makers of Good News Week and the AFL Grand Final.

This post updates.

  1. I don’t the ABC will be too happy about ‘Breakfast’. How uncreative to give their programme the same name as one of its rivals. The ABC should challenge this.

  2. Yes because the 7PM Project is such a ratings success, they decide to do a morning version of it…
Hopefully ToastedTV goes to ELEVEN. Even though it majorly sucks in comparison to CheezTV, kids need a show like this in the mornings. Unless Kids’ WB have a weekday morning version next year seeing as it’s on weekday arvos and weekend mornings.
So do you think the Rochford household watch the Block, or 7PM Project?

  3. Now I know why ABC is showing repeats of Graham Norton (which I love) ad-nauseum. They are losing the rights soon. Shame. Ten will ruin it with ads. 🙁

  4. Wow, the Renovators back for 2012? That’s ambitious… is there a pool going on it pulling a Masterchef series 2 and ditching the host in favour of the 3 judges taking care of hosting duties?

  5. I wonder if Toasted TV will continue next year-or will its timeslot be replaced by Breakfast?

Like the sound of Underground: The Julian Assange Story and nice to see 6:30 with George Negus is staying.

  6. David, do you know if Roving Enterprises will be producing the Breakfast show?…seems abit much for 10 to say it is similar to 7pm Project without letting them produce it.

  7. Hopefully by “we are working directly with Shine to renovate The Renovators for 2011 and beyond” he means less challenges and more actual renovating. We only get to see the houses for like 2 minutes each on the ‘progress assessment’ episodes.

  8. A little worried about Ten buying Graham Norton Show.
A little disappointed that they are not fasttracking Terra Nova.
Not sure what they mean by Biggest Loser Singles. Does that mean it’s back to normal or are they only looking for people who are single?
The name Breakfast is very lazy. Surely they can think of something more cool.
The only good thing I like about them reviving Young Talent Time is that it will be on Saturday nights. We need something better than movies and Funniest Home Videos which deserve to be on the digital channels.

  9. “Capture the minds of children, and you will have the adults forever”

Losing that dominance of younger viewers before school will hurt Ten, not help them. I’d say, that a lot of people who grew up with Jade/Ryan, along with a lot of parents will likely be upset about this.

  10. I like the sound of Breakfast, I think the 7PM format would work well at 7AM… and I’m glad that ‘The Finder’ has found a home on Australian TV, though I’m surprised it’s not on Seven…

Also interesting that the Biggest Loser is Singles, I thought it was going to be Families again.

  11. I really like the Aussie lineup, hesitant with mills re YTT, don’t make the reboot Americanised like Ryan Seacrest..
Still reckon Kate Langbroek to co-host with Andrew Rochford.
Really hope the Assange story comes through.
Guess Lisa McCune really enjoyed us North Queenslanders with Sea Patrol, sounds good.

    Thanks David. 🙂

  12. @SteveSydney I’m not happy either that TEN will now have The Grahm Norton Show. Its going to be ruined with ads and being bumped around. I also enjoyed that the ABC repeated it on Saturday night.

  13. As much as I love TEN I’m not thrilled with it having Graham Norton! It’s a quality show and ABC looks after it very well at the moment. Don’t have much faith in TEN with this one.

None of these list are set in stone i.e Don’t Stop Believing being on the list last year. However it’s good to know TEN, for the moment at least, still have faith in 6.30 and The Renovators. Please don’t screw up Renovators 2.0!!
