David Mott says of The Renovators, “So far the format has underperformed. But it’s a brand we believe in so we are working directly with Shine to renovate The Renovators for 2011 and beyond.”

A spokewoman said it was too early to say whether there would be new seasons of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation and Junior MasterChef in 2012 when the current seasons were only just on air or soon to air. TEN says it is yet to make a decision on whether it will revive It’s A Knockout.

Still to come this year are Class of 2011, Rush, Recruits: Paramedics and Good News World, from the makers of Good News Week and the AFL Grand Final.

  1. They still seem pretty low on drama points. Is Reef Doctors Jonathan Shiff”s first attempt at drama for grown ups? Good luck with that! Reef Doctors – I’m sure it will be very sunny and happy and heavily subsidised by Screen Queensland. Obviously Hal McElroy and Jonathan Shiff know how to work it up there.

  2. @alfagirl: Homeland is a psychological thriller from the Showtime network in the US. It stars Mandy Patinkin (Criminal Minds, Chicago Hope), Damian Lewis (Life) and Claire Danes.
@george: with the Federal Government trying to go back into surplus by 2012-13 financial year, funding to the ABC will be reduced further, meaning the ABC may not be able to renew existing programs, losing them to commercial channels.

  3. Watched Renovators tonight – dear God I’m disappointed it’s continuing. What a load of pretentious crap – when they were all virtually crying over the idea of using recycled materials, I wanted to either throw something or vomit in my mouth a little… Get over it!!! You’re not saving blind puppies, it’s bits of wood for crying out loud!! Made Masterchef look positively humble in comparison!!!!!

  4. RE: Breakfast, I’m disappointed that Ten have decided to imitate, rather than innovate. They should have improved Toasted TV, which they have been degrading for a while (eg, cutting the length down to put Totally Wild on).

  5. Can of worms and the renovators are coming but there still making a decision on yo gen and its a knockout

Please ten put yo gen and it’s a knockout in your 2012 lineup, I realy want to watch iak I didn’t see the original but from what I was told I is a great show.

  6. @Phoenix – Terranova and Homeland will both air on Ten in October.

The finder is a Mid Season Launch on Fox which means it won’t air in the US (& Ten) until January at the earliest.

  7. Regarding the Graham Norton Show, the ABC can’t expect to get programming for next to nothing anymore, those days are long gone. By the time TEN screens Series 9, it would have been nearly a year anyway since the BBC screened it. As such, most of the die-hards would have already seen it anyway by other various means.

At least Big Brother is not back!!!

  8. Oprah’s finished her season of shows so afternoon weekdays could soon change.I am hoping 4 to 5pm goes back to family friendly shows like what we had with wonder world and double dare back in the eighties and whatever else they showed in the first half of the nineties as news lead in’s. Say no to the Bold and The Beautiful at 4:30PM for 2012!!!!

  9. Yes! heaps excited about ‘the renovators’. it is seriously under rated which is sad! was hoping that ‘big brother’ would be announced for Eleven, guess it may not come back any time soon! 🙁

  10. Pretty annoyed that they’ve got Norton. What is with the commercials grabbing established and well-treated shows from SBS and the ABC? I suppose I should be thankful that it hasn’t gone to Nine but are they really going to put it on channel ten? At what time and for how long before it’s replaced by repeats of NCIS? Grrrr.

  11. Julian Assange Story could be interesting.
I watch ABC News Breakfast these days instead of Sunrise cos i want news, not lame jokes and blatant promotion of their own programs like Sunrise does and Breakfast will probably be the same so probably won’t watch it, even if Andrew Rochford is a spunk.
Is Biggest Loser: Singles, just the original BL, or are they turning it into a dating show? Do they really need to add “Singles”
They’re gonna need to try and win me back to watch Masterchef, cos i’m not interested after this year.
And interesting they’re going ahead with The Renovators. Perhaps they’re listening to what we’re saying and will take it on board for next year.

  12. It’s disappointing that Terra Nova, Homeland and The Finder are all being held over until 2012. So much for fast-tracking!

I’m sick and tired of being stuffed around by the TV stations. If 10 takes too long to show these series, I’ll be buying them on DVD.

  13. I don’t want The Graham Norton Show to be on TEN. It belongs on ABC2 with no commercials. I don’t believe the ratings will be big enough for it to stay on TEN. They better not shaft it.

  14. I’m confused with Terra Nova, I know the pilot was delayed and was originally planned for May but pushed back to Sept. From what I found the season starts Sept 26 in the US, with 13 eps planned.

  15. The Graham Norton Show should be on 11 not Ten.Actually it should have remained on the ABC.

I have heard rumours Ten has got rights to Torchwood as well, they keep saying on their Facebook page (the ELEVEN page) they do not. So not sure if ABC 2 can still air repeats of the series or air the new series on Free to Air once it has aired on Pay ???

@ Janetebbutt- Fiddling is what Ten Doesn’t need to do. Look at all the fiddling Nine has done on GO! , it has done far more harm than good.

I notice Ten seems to stick with shows eg Negus and Renovators wheras 7 and 9 would not I guess. They can stick with 7pm project as it probably doesn’t cost that much to make , I was thinking the same with Negus.

I would have less faith if Nine had rights to Graham Norton Show, I am sure Ten will be relatively stable with it and I can almost imagine it moving to Eleven !

  16. Ten sticking to 2011 or so they say. Surely they can’t stick with 6.30 which rates below Bold and Beautiful, or with 7pm which kills anything in the 7.30 slot. It’s obvious 7pm should be at 6.30 then loser or mC at 7pm – the Block is working cause it’s at 7pm. What do these programmers get paid to come up with ideas like a show called the Renovators should show people renovating??? No no they need another year of fiddling to make all this work. I’m a shareholder and not happy. I expected to see some serious ideas about improving their declining ratings.

  17. Hmm…. Interesting. Don’t All the channels have to have a certain amount of children’s programming? Could the afternoons on Ten be getting a shake up?

  18. The Graham Norton Show? So Ten must have poached it from the ABC (that’s another BBC program taken from the ABC’s grasp). It is suited for a 10.30pm timeslot on Saturdays.

  19. @MillerT1
Terra Nova has only had its 2 part pilot filmed so far, so a bit ambitious to announce 10 show ing the actual series next year. They may very well show the pilot this year just as the US is
