  1. Why is it so hard for Seven Perth to show the Friday night game live on 7Mate from 5.30-6.30pm local time and then join the game live in progress after the 6pm news on 7?

  2. HD is a waste of time. As if anyone is going to not watch the Football live on the television because the broadcast isnt in HD. That’s ridiculous! I imagine it would be costly to shoot/broadcast ect. in HD and the Increase in veiwers wouldnt be worth it.

  3. @Armchair Analyst: this Friday’s final will be live into Adelaide from 7pm. It means there will be double episodes of Home and Away this Thursday from 7pm, pushing back The X Factor to 8pm.

  4. Are the Finals going to be Live on Seven in Adelaide? Hopefully because if they are not it does not make any sense. In my logical opinion having Friday Night football live into interstate and delayed in Victoria (or wherever the game is being played) should be compulsory, not optional. The only exception to that rule would be if it is a sell out.

  5. Win Television is scheduling to show all 4 NRL games live this weekend into Victoria I think that is more impressive than channel 7 showing 2 AFL games into Melbourne which should of always been the case

  6. For WA viewers 3 games are Live while Friday night is on a 1 hour delay. Surprised Ten are showing Saturday night live at 5pm, haven’t done that in previous years during the finals.

  7. I see that now. Pity 9 won’t show the NRL in Melbourne. I read on their facebook they are supposedly fibbing again .

    See below

Kos Lèger: old len is afraid he,ll upset the afl applecart.. says he cant de-list programs so they can be shown on gem yet has done it with the rugby union twice now..

  8. Channel 10 are not even trying to get live for the Saturday games and will broadcast both with a 30 minute delay on Ch 10 only.

I believe that the GF maybe on ONE still but 10 are pretty disinterested in AFL now they’ve lost the contract.

  9. @Kevmarl , I think the answer to that question is a big NO , TVtonight had a post in July about it , none of the networks will make an effort for sport in HD now.

  10. Why wouldn’t they put the 99 Prelim final in as a footy flashback?

Doubt any finals footy will be in HD unfortunately. Can’t remember the last time I watched anything HD on FTA.

  11. It’ll be live into Adelaide and Perth on 7 as well. And also into Syd & Bris on 7mate. Under the current broadcast arrangement, AFL require Ch7 to show the game in all states live, according to AFL’s website.

  12. Well thats good news, Now if they will just broadcast the games in HD they will become a real modern broadcaster… By the way, anyone know if Ch10 will be broadcasting the Grand Final on OneHD this year? I think we need to start a campaign now!
