Tickets to the Australian Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA) sold out in record time yesterday within just 40 mins of being on sale.
Nearly 5000 tickets were sold for the slime-tastic event on Friday October 7 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. KCAs are very possibly the best-produced awards show in the country, and as an indication of their growing popularity, this year’s speedy sellout contrasts with the two weeks taken to sell the 2010 event.
“The reputation of our locally-produced Australian Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards has made KCA tickets a hot commodity,” said Ben Richardson, General Manager of Nickelodeon Australia & New Zealand.
“The event is an incredibly exciting experience for kids and kids at heart, executed in Nick’s unique style of entertainment – bright, brash, irreverent and messy. Kids own the night, and it brings them closer to the stars that they love. I’m delighted at the demand that KCA’s has attracted this year, and the whole team at Nick can’t wait to deliver an awards show to be enjoyed not just by those that can attend the event, but also to everyone watching the broadcast around the country on the same night.”
Select tix will still be given away through Nickelodeon’s VIP competition.

The way this award show is growing it will be bigger than the logies
I’d say, a move to a bigger venue is on the drawing board for 2012, after the speedy sellout this year.
