Are Australia’s Got Talent judges about to change?

Is Channel Seven preparing us for a change of judges on Australia's Got Talent?

Hmmmm….

I don’t know about you, but is Channel Seven preparing us for a change of judges on Australia’s Got Talent?

Here’s their latest Press Release:

Channel Seven’s Australia’s Got Talent has been the nation’s number one variety show for five years, and to celebrate host Grant Denyer is taking us on a look back at all the weird and wonderful performances in Australia’s Got Amazing Talent.

Over the years the time-slot has changed… the set changed… even some of the judges changed… but the one thing that has remained the same is that Australia does indeed have talent.

The nation’s largest talent quest has travelled to every corner of the country, unearthing stars and kick-starting the careers of some of Australia’s biggest names in entertainment, from Justice Crew to Mark Vincent. Over four million Australians watched 14-year-old schoolboy Jack Vidgen take out the $250,000 grand final prize this year.

Plenty of programs might call themselves ‘variety shows’ but none can match the extraordinary diversity of Australia’s Got Talent. There are the customary singers, dancers and all that jazz, but Australia’s Got Talent is also responsible for some of the most bizarre and jaw-dropping TV moments the country has seen – from contortionists, acrobats and yodelers to sword swallowers and even a spoon player. Then there’s that last category that can only be labeled as ‘Miscellaneous’ (looking at you, Watermelon Man).

Updated: Australia’s Got Amazing Talent will revel in the memorable moments from the first five series, including all the antics and acerbic comments from judges Dannii Minogue, Red Symons, Tom Burlinson, Kyle Sandilands, Brian McFadden and host Grant Denyer. And it’s coming soon to Channel Seven.

  1. Well if they are changing judges, I believe they should get “Glen Smyth” as a judge!!
He would be perfect and would run rings around Kyle…. and while I have your attention I think Ronan is a Great judge (and pretty cute :)) and sorry, Mel C just would’nt work….

  2. @ Jerome, I disagree. I think talent shows are variety, not reality. Talent shows have been around for years, long before the reality genre arrived.

    @ Craig, Charming

  3. This looks to be just a “Best Of” compilation show. Like The Best of Red Faces. Cheap and cheerful television from material already aired! Would cost Seven nothing to throw together. No mention that I can see of future judge shifts. All in the past from what I can see!
