ARIA Awards for GO?

Could the ARIAs finish up on GO! with Hamish and Andy back as hosts?

The latest rumour on the ARIA Awards broadcast is that it may air on GO!, despite having been in negotiations for a screening on ELEVEN.

Nine boss David Gyngell is believed to have thrown the music industry event a lifeline. Nine previously hosted the 2009 awards.

At this week’s nominations announcement, ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said a broadcast partner was expected to be announced within days.

“The ARIAs have had highs and lows and we don’t always get it right. We are totally committed to getting it right and learning from the problems of last year’s event,” he said.

On Nine or GO! Hamish Blake and Andy Lee could be ripe as hosts of the 25th anniversary -both co-hosted in 2008 when produced by Roving Enterprises.

The ARIAs have long been a night full of surprises, highlights, controversy and doubt. At the very first award ceremony in 1987, host Elton John advised the industry to keep them off television “if you want these Awards to stay fun”.

  1. I’m sorry fans but i can;t stand them both clowns because if they are comedians on stage they shouldn’t be out there been disrespectfull doing (stunts) like the american version. They are copycats and they wanna be like they are high ratings when they not..

Just wait when things are settle down and they slowly give up because they have nothing els to do then act imatured out there doing rediculous things and for thier own age the acts and stunts are so foolish of themself a full on imatured and disrespectfull to the public people out there.

Why dont they just do the stupid stunts here in australia rather then a different country as if they think they can get away from it all.

For me a comedian shouldn’t be out there doing stunts like as if it looks disrespectfull to the commerce. A comedians should be on a theatre doing the acts. (just not the stunts)

Me and my wife flick channels as soon as they are on. They should belong back to the radio station.. who ever they are they are copycats wanna be the american version which doesnt impressed me one bit at all.. Get them out of channel 9 these 2 clown disrespectfull clowns.

  2. You would think that being on GO! would allow the show to stay true to its youth orientated audience……although maybe there are no young producers/programmers working at Nein….

  3. What does the Daily Terrorgraph mean when they say H&A “…could be ripe as hosts…”? Can’t they let someone new have their “de-butt”? 🙂 (yeah, we haven’t forgotten, Mauboy!)

  4. If it is on Go, hopefully that means it will be geared for a younger audience and might actually be halfway decent. That’s assuming the personnel at Nine and Go are different.

    If it’s on Eleven, perfect.

  5. We should remind the viewers the last time the ARIA Awards we’re on the Ch9 Network. ..Anyone remember the Peter Harvey Rap!

Should be easily found on YouTube! hehe!
