Bumped: Haven

Updated: More pesky scheduling changes from your ABC suddenly bumps Haven to November.

Next week ABC2 premieres a supernatural drama, Haven, loosely based on the Stephen King novel The Colorado Kid.

Featuring Emily Rose (Brothers and Sisters, Jericho), the American / Canadian co-production premiered on the Syfy network in July 2010 and a second season began in July this year.

Airing from 8:30pm Monday October 17 on ABC2, the show will also be up against Supernatural on ELEVEN.

Haven in Maine, USA, appears to be just another lively, New England seaside town, complete with quaint shops, scenic beaches and a busy harbour. However, when FBI Agent Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) arrives on a routine case, she encounters the mysterious underside of Haven. Her investigation leads her to discover that certain people in Haven are supernatural in a way that can’t be controlled.

Audrey is not just a relentless, highly-trained investigator, she’s charming, clever and gifted with unique intuition. She discovers that she alone is uniquely qualified to save these troubled people, and chooses to stay in Haven not only to unravel the mysteries surrounding them, but to dig deeper into the unsettling truths about her own history and her ties to this extraordinary place.

Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant), a wry local detective becomes Audrey’s partner on the police force. He is one of the people suffering a supernatural affliction.

UPDATE:

ABC borrows more scheduling habits from commercial broadcasters by suddenly announcing Haven will now premiere Monday, November 07 at 8:30pm on ABC2. It will replay Wide Open Road for the next three Mondays.

ABC has been doing this a lot lately…..

  1. I might have watched but not with it against Supernatural. Nor if they put it against sci-fi Thursday on Eleven at the moment. Did they do something similar with Sanctuary? ‘Cos I seem to remember they put it on a Monday at one stage so it was impossible to watch. I think it was up against Q&A and they didn’t repeat it in the Eastern States at the time. So if you live in an area that can’t record the ABC nor use iView then you have to choose. By the way I live in one of those areas. Oh well.
