Comedy Channel picks up Alan Partridge’s Mid-Morning Matters

The Comedy Channel has picked up a slew of Steve Coogan comedies including Alan Partridge’s Mid-Morning Matters.

The Comedy Channel has picked up Steve Coogan’s 2010 comedy, Alan Partridge’s Mid-Morning Matters, plus several other comedies from BBC Worldwide.

The Comedy Channel will screen Series 1 and 2 of Alan Partridge’s Mid-Morning Matters, both 6 episodes each, early in 2012. This returns Coogan’s Alan Partridge character to Aussie screens after an eight year absence. The series began as an online comedy funded by Fosters.

Also acquired are Steve Coogan comedy series Coogan’s Run, Saxondale Series 1 and 2 and specials Alan Partridge and Other Less Successful Characters, Steve Coogan – The Inside Story, Steve Coogan – The Man Who Thinks He’s It.

Irene Read, BBC Worldwide Australia’s Sales Manager, said, “Steve Coogan’s Alan Partridge is an icon of comedy and it’s great to have him back. This package for The Comedy Channel is British comedy at its best, with Steve Coogan at the heart of it.”

Other BBC comedy titles include: Alan Carr: Tooth Fairy, Red Dwarf Series 1, 2, 7 and 8 and 2009 special Red Dwarf – Back to Earth.
