With Sunday November 27th looming as the date of the ARIA Awards, we still have no broadcaster confirmed.
Many viewers will remember last year’s shambolic production of the event on the steps of the Opera House.
But The Australian today speculates that Foxtel could come to the rescue for 2011.
The Awards as an event are being produced by Mark Pope Music and Events, but late last week a Foxtel source indicated its participation was still “to be confirmed.”
Sunday November 27th is also the first day of the summer non-ratings season.

The location was not the problem last year the set up was the problem. The ARIAS should have been held inside the opera house not outside it. The creative team simply had no brains at all, the scenes were so chaotic and disjointed. They should have had a simple yet effective broadcast from inside, on a basic rectangualar stage and thats it, although if we have had then there would have been people who would have complained at how borring and uninspired it was, sometimes you just cant win, in saying that yes it could have been done way better.
TVS would make a better job of it than channel 10 did of it last year.
This is shocking for the ARIAs
I hope they dont stage it at the Opera house again, it was simply a steaming hot pileof turd plus the opera house has been done to death so many times in terms of special tv broadcasts its time to find a new venue.
They don’t have much time, the channels have pretty much locked in all their programming for November!
What word can Jessica Mauboy mispronounce this year? Chasm would be a good one, or perhaps psychic….
This is the 25th year isn’t it?
Be a shame if it were not to be on FTA for at least this anniversary. But, it’d be even more of a shame if it weren’t on TV at all.
So if FTA can’t have it; at least someone might. 😛
Hmmm… I was thinking it could possibly suit Channel 7 at the moment since they’re also broadcasting X Factor. 10 used to like to link Idol to it.
Let’s hope it’s not a Drunk-Fest like the way Ch10 made it look last year!
