Another local comedy sells to the US.

This time, Comedy Central has picked up the US rights to produce a local version of ABC’s Review with Myles Barlow.

The satirical comedy which stars Phil Lloyd (At Home with Julia) reviewing difficult life experience by living them.

The US version will star Andrew Daly (Eastbound & Down) as reviewer Forrest MacNeil.

It will be executive produced by Charlie Siskel (Tosh.0) and Daly.

According to Deadline, “Forrest MacNeil reviews difficult life experiences … by living them. He reviews whatever his TV audience throws at him: the adrenaline rush of stealing, the drama of divorce, the effects of murder, the wonder of anonymous sex. And he rates every adventure on a scale of zero to five stars. Forrest’s unwavering commitment to his work often comes at the expense of his wife, his children, his affable neighbor Gary and his co-workers.”

Earlier this month a US version of ABC’s Laid was also sold to the US.

  1. Phil Lloyd and Review was great. Understated and under-rated but still with LOL moments.

@Mike Retter – yes, that is strange. I wonder why the US didn’t want to remake Live From Planet Earth or TV Burp? Not much chance of them making it any worse.

  2. Easily the most underrated comedy show on Australian TV. Very clever, very witty and the lead is excelent.

Notice how all the Australian comedies whos formats are being sold to the U.S for a remake come from The ABC and SBS? Kath And Kim, Wilfred, Laid, Review etc…
