Australia: The Time Travellers Guide for ABC1

Essential Media is busy with drama and factual projects for ABC1, currently filming Jack Irish with Guy Pearce and finishing scripts of the second season of Rake.
Next year ABC1 will also screen factual series Australia: The Time Travellers Guide, which showcases the geological history of the Australian continent.
The series will take viewers on a road trip, explaining how mountains, minerals and deserts shaped our landscape with.
“It’s a classic blue-chip, natural history piece, with a few dinosaurs thrown in for good measure,” said Essential Media producer Ian Collie.
Collie is a partner in Essential Media with CEO Chris Hilton, Carmel Travers and Sonia Armstrong.
Essential Media also has projects in development for ABC3 and Gourmet Farmer is set to go into its third series for SBS.

Yes, ‘Australia: The Time Travellers Guide’ does sound interesting. Wish they’d get a wriggle on with ‘Rake’ series 2 though! “Finishing scripts”? I would’ve hoped they’d be further along with it than that by now. After the horrible disaster of ‘Crownies’ (how much longer has that dreadful mess got to run?) I’d really like to see a good local legal show again.
The Time Travellers Guide sounds interesting, we see shows like that on a global scale it would be nice to learn a little more about house Australia was formed.
