Is former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester set for a comeback to Australian TV?

That’s the whisper TV Tonight is hearing….

Rochester is rumoured to be hosting Excess Baggage, Nine’s new celebrity diet show set to air in 2012.

The show pairs a celebrity with a non-celebrity as both try to lose weight.

A week ago she wrote on Twitter: “Hey twitophiles…I know I’ve been quiet but for good reason…stay true & u will no all 1st! Off the grid for a while #trust xx”

Names attached to the series so far include Christine Anu, former Australian Idol winner Kate Dearaugo, former AFL player Robert ‘Dipper’ Dipierdomenico, paparazzo Darryn Lyons, comedian Gabby Millgate and Britney Spears’ ex Kevin Federline.

On the weekend there were reports that Federline caused a stir with a naked swim at The Olsen Hotel in South Yarra.

A Nine spokeswoman told the Herald Sun the production company, FremantleMedia, had spoken to hotel management and no complaint had been registered.

UPDATED: Ajay Rochester will be a guest on Excess Baggage with singer and Getaway presenter Kate Ceberano now tipped as host.

  1. “Excess Baggage”? More like ‘Celebrity Circus’, season two.

Nine’s ‘Big’ struggled to get above 600k earlier this year, I doubt this will do any better

  2. Do you really expect A list celebs to go on reality TV? Of course it’s D list celebs. They’re more entertaining anyway. They don’t care anymore about maintaining a front and will say anything.

  3. With the names attached to the show perhaps it should be renamed ‘Where Are They Now’ or ‘Whatever Happened to’ [obviously they got tubby].
Yet another show with D-Grade celebs.
