GO! will premiere UK Reality series I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! from next week.
Filmed once again in Queensland and hosted by Ant and Dec, the series will feature a string of UK faces including Mark Wright (The Only Way is Essex), Antony Cotton (Coronation Street), Lorraine Chase (Emmerdale) plus US actress Stefanie Powers from Hart to Hart.
Earlier editions of the series have previously aired on Pay TV.
Celebrities are idolised and worshipped for the glamorous and affluent lives they lead in the spotlight. But when this program drops a load of them into an Australian jungle there’s not a personal assistant or makeup artist in sight. These celebrities are forced to fend for themselves and battle it out to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle by the viewers.
Hosted by comedians Ant and Dec, the program, now in its eleventh series, introduces a new batch of celebrities to the trials, tribulations and creepy crawlies that inhabit the Aussie jungle. Only the strongest (or least precious) will survive and the rest will be left screaming, “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!”
The latest crop of celebrities braving the jungle in the current series which is also screening in the UK are Stefanie Powers, from the 1980s Hart to Hart TV series; Fatima Whitbread MBE, gold medal Olympian; Freddie Starr, impressionist and actor; Dougie Poynter, bass player in the band McFly; Antony Cotton, Coronation Street actor; Crissy Rock, comedienne; Jessica-Jane Clement, actress in The Real Hustle; Lorraine Chase, actress in Emmerdale; Mark Wright, star of The Only Way is Essex; and Willie Carson OBE, racing commentator and one of England’s great jockeys.
I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! premiered in the UK to a record audience of 11.5 million viewers. Now Australia can follow these celebrities out of their soft comfort zones as they negotiate trials and challenges – and perhaps a few very unwelcome intruders – in their quest to reign supreme in our unforgiving jungle.
Wednesday, November 23, at 7.30pm on GO!

Can”t wait, it is a fantastic programme and really missed it since I moved to Australia 18 months ago. So excited. Don’tneed the rellies to record it now and send it over, Weheeeeeeeyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!
Gee – Merrick and Ross have lost a bit of weight.
what happened to the 2010 series which hasn’t been shown yet on pay tv – i’ve been waiting all year for that. Are they skipping this to goto the 2011 one which is currently airing in UK?
Belinda, yes, it was very much like Dancing With The Stars
I think you will find that it is made in NSW a couple of kilometers from the Qld border.
You don’t really need to know who the celebrities are to enjoy the show.
I’m glad it’s finally back on TV after UKTV lost the rights and we missed a season.
At least when Ten briefly played it there were a couple of celebrities known to Australians.
@DF probably not as even if it was ‘local’, it wouldn’t count for any local points airing on GO!
Also, I’m sure this played on TEN at one stage…
Where are the celebrities? Never heard of any of the cast or the hosts. Leave it for the UK.
And pointless showing as most rational human beings would not care.
But are GO/Nein finding a way to count this as local content since it’s filmed in Australia?
Pointless them showing it a week behind, it’s into it’s 4th day, those of us who watch live daily shows like this are watching it via other means.
