TV1 to play full Killing Time miniseries

Following legal hurdles, TV1 will now screen all episodes of its acclaimed miniseries about fallen lawyer Andrew Fraser.

TV1 has confirmed it will now play all episodes of its acclaimed miniseries Killing Time, putting an end to any doubts about its final episodes.

The drama, in which David Wenham plays disgraced lawyer Andrew Fraser, was due to premiere in 2010 but delayed by a year due to the matters before the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Last month TV1 began screening the first of 6 episodes, but there was no clarity on the final 4 episodes, potentially to be delayed until 2012 or beyond.

Now following legal advice TV1 will proceed with the full miniseries, uninterrupted.

In a statement, the Pay TV channel said, “TV1 now considers that it is appropriate to proceed with the broadcast of these episodes and it is delighted that it is able to play the complete story of Andrew Fraser it always wanted to tell.”

David Wenham added, “It is very pleasing that after many months of uncertainty Killing Time will be screened in its entirety. Viewers will now have the complete satisfaction of being able to watch the series as it was intended to be screened. This has certainly made the cast of Killing Time very happy.”

So far the FremantleMedia drama has attracted strong reviews including for Wenham and actor Richard Cawthorne. TV1 is also claiming the premiere episode as the most watched subscription television original Australian drama ever (including consolidated viewers).

Episode 5 will play this coming Wednesday, 23rd November at 8.30pm with episodes 7-10 to play as double episodes on December 7 (eps 7 & 8 ) with John Wood guest starring as former businessman Alan Bond.

The series now concludes on December 14 with eps 9 & 10.

  1. As a recent subscriber to pay TV I am as disappointed with the rubbish on it as I am with the free to air channel offerings ( except for some good ABC evenings). Then along comes Killing Time on TV1 and my faith is completely restored. This program is so very good that it has made the whole investment in Pay TV worthwhile. Better than all the Underbelly sequels! I’ll be staying tuned to TV1 from now on.
