Channel TEN loves killing popular TV series. Examples of this include Big Brother, Junior Masterchef and soon to be Masterchef Australia. Why, Channel TEN, why? I never watch the channel unless Masterchef is on and I don’t plan on watching it again until Masterchef Australia next year. Having the knowledge of TEN’s regime with reality series, it will probably be its second last series.
Great to see Spicks & Specks go out at #1. Not many shows can do that. Was a great finale, and the show has been great over the years. Really sad to see it go.
Unusual that Junior Masterchef – winner announced was lower than the actual show. That never happens. Did it even crack 1 mil at all this year? I think Masterchef will drop massively next year. Ten have killed the franchise and in such short time.
Seven have nothing without the X Factor. (TFPIC)
@MuchoTB , i predicted those figures.
Interesting that Channel 2 beat Channel 7 (as individual channels i.e. 18.2% & 17.8% ) . Is it the first time especially on a weeknight? I’m sure Seven will win the week and it normally doesn’t interest me. I’m glad they did so well because they had the best night.
Plus did anyone see during The Hamster Wheel and the cat segment that they had the real Graham Richardson on including the food.
Ten presumably coded the announcement of the winner of JMC separately to cash in on the usual spike in ratings but, according to the ratings data, 20k less people watched than the average for the entire show beforehand. Weird.
The One is an awful show.. good premise behind the idea but poorly executed…
Those have to be the best ratings The Project has gotten since it became an hour show..
David do you know how im a celb on GO! did last night
Didn’t watch one second of Junior Masterchef this year, but clearly they’ve titivated it enormously with trips to the US and whatnot, so to have such underwhelming figures for the finale says a lot about its chances of being back next year.
Now that Celebrity Masterchef is dead and Junior Masterchef moribund, the original Masterchef will have trouble next year as people are growing tired of it already. I think if they don’t change the format, that’ll be the death knell for it too. Six days a week takes way too much committment from viewers, especially when the show is normally an hour and often times longer. I much prefer the US Masterchef’s streamlined format of two hour-long shows a week.
lol @ 700k for The One. Rather dodgy numbers for a finale – I doubt we’ll see a third series
Good numbers for the Hamster Wheel all things considered…The Chaser aren’t the ratings bonanza they were 3-4 years ago but their new show has been entertaining enough
Ouch! Junior MC couldn’t even manage 1m on its finale.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the series – these sort of ratings can’t possibly justify it coming back next year.
Dreadful numbers for the finale of Junior MasterChef – pretty much kills off any chances of it returning next year(even though I quite enjoyed what I saw of the series & the kids).
S&S did about as well as I would have expected – good sendoff.
There wasn’t any doubt in S&S winning the night – but the finale of the One did much sadder than I thought it would
